Convento do Espinheiro, Historic Hotel & Spa

The hotel staffer was efficient checking us in but not friendly. She seemed to be annoyed with our questions. The front desk people never asked to help us bring in our suitcases. Later we were waiting for our suitcases near the front desk and the woman at the front desk asked us to move to another room, really? She recommended restaurants in town for lunch but never mentioned that most restaurants close at 3:00 so we didn’t have lunch in town. The staff that held suitcases because our room wasn’t ready was very nice and delivered the bags to our room when we arrived later. The dinner staff were nice and the food was excellent!!! The location of the hotel is well out of town so the location is not convenient to other activities out of the spa hotel. It is a good place to relax. The historic nature of the hotel was amazing!

This hotel is the finest we have ever stayed at. The convent facility was historic and beyond description for quiet and relaxation. The spa was clean and full featured. My wife received a facial. Above all the staff was polite and professional. Five star dining and we joined wine tasting as well. Evora is a wonderful place to visit.

This was a unique and beautiful hotel located just out of Évora. It was a peaceful oasis of gardens, spa, outdoor pool and covent interior to explore. The outdoor pool was fabulous for swimming laps. The restaurant was gourmet.

Beautiful and interesting place. Rooms were well appointed with great bathrooms and the best shower! Would have loved to stay longer. Nice indoor pool.

Great relaxing hotel with a great restaurant.

This is a beautiful historic hotel that combines charm with modern amenities beautifully.

The exterior of the property in particular is very tired. The bar is like something from a museum cafe when there is a beautiful room next door that should be used as the bar. The indoor pool was good and the breakfast was good.

Hard to find - GPS access can be spotty - we had to call the resort several times to get there BUT all stress was easily forgotten from the instant we drove up- Peaceful, luxurious and classy.

Beautiful luxurious unique hotel. Previous convent/monastery. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and very clean. Bed was very large. Beautiful garden and inner courtyard. The breakfast was impressive with so many varieties. We only stayed 1 night due to our itinerary but would love to stay longer. There is a very very impressive chapel inside the hotel.

Travelling with friends around Portugal. Our trip included 2 nights at this beautiful hotel. Our rooms were perfection with lots of space and comfort and a bathroom with staff along shower and tub with jets…and a bidet. The history of the facility made the stay more enjoyable. Staff were welcoming and focussed on your needs. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.
