"Lovely hotel and staff , shame they allow so many groups of youngsters"

8.0

Lovely clean hotel , room was nice and clean , staff were all lovely, in a brilliant location , bars and restaurants on your doorstep , strip 5/10 mins walk , beach 10 min walk . Pool area opens at 9 , all beds taken by 10am so if you want a bed get down before 10 , the only fault I had with this hotel is the amount of groups of teenagers/20's being very loud on a night , getting back in at all hours in the morning shouting in corridors , banging on each other's doors ect , if you don't like being disturbed avoid other than that we had no issues

"Avoid at all costs"

4.0

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to warn people about this hotel after our experience, I will keep it as brief as I possibly can. The room we were given stank of cigarette smoke, we were charged a 100 euro deposit on arrival which still has not been refunded to us, the sofa bed mattress was brutal and nobody could get a night sleep on it, for the last 3 days there was a party of teenagers slugging vodka from glass litre bottles of vodka next to the pool, they were so drunk that they were falling over at times, music blaring from a speaker, staff very unhelpful in general. Have been to Portugal many times, this is by far the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed in, in short AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

"6th stay "

10.0

Just returned from a 10 night stay - this was our 6th time at this hotel - we was there with family & friends . The hotel is clean and what we expect , from the moment we check in to the minute we leave it's superb - the staff are all excellent, the bar team welcome us with open arms as soon as we see them . Food & drinks in the snack bar is very good and very reasonable priced . We was in in room 119 this time ,albeit few bits need updating / attention in the room but it doesn't distract from enjoying our stay. The room it self is very good complete with new bathroom , pool view and close to the stairs / lift but nice and quiet at night . The pool is kept in tip top condition and the area around the pool is washed down every morning - we tend to sunbath in the garden area which is nice and relaxing , there's some music from the bar too. Location of the hotel is excellent for good bars & restaurants just up the road towards the roundabout, there's a couple of small mini supermarkets nxt door too . You can hire beach towels from the spa €20 for the duration of your stay and you can exchange them as often as you want . Please don't let any negative posts put you off your stay , every one has different opinions but I'm been honest and would highly recommend santa Eulila Hotel and Spa to my family & friends & we will be back again

"4 STAR , PARADISE for 9 nights !! "

10.0

From the moment we approached the hotel at the clean marble steps and entered the reception area, we felt welcome . The reception staff were attentive and very helpful . There is a spa if you feel like being pampered for the day .The outside pool area was lovely and clean , and there were plenty of sun loungers that were available in the shade if you wanted or were ready for you to catch a few rays . The bar was well stocked and very competitively priced . Our rooms were spacious and cleaned every day as well as fresh towels . Both rooms had quiet air conditioning and were spacious . Beds were made every day and changed every 4 days . We only used the kitchen for cereal as we ate out all the time at the many local restaurants , some of which were only a 2 minute walk from the hotel . The whole experience was perfect from beginning to end . I don't know what more could be done for the Santa Eulalia Hotel and Spa to be a FIVE STAR rated hotel . We look forward to returning next year !

"Not great at all"

6.0

A very basic 4* hotel. It claims to be newly refurbished but only the bedrooms are, the bathroom and corridors are like 1970’s Hawaii style but dark! Cockroaches in our bedroom daily. Staff not very helpful, slow at breakfast to bring coffee etc, over priced food and drinks. Very nice beach but you have to pay to use sunbeds which I’m sure the hotel own. So overall very disappointing

"Average hotel, value for money"

6.0

Stayed here for a week in early April 2025. The hotel itself is lovely, clean and staff were helpful and friendly contrary to some reviews on here. My fiancé and I stayed in room 406 and had emailed in advance to ask if we could have a balcony big enough for 2 people as we had saw some reviews and photos showing the tiny 1 person balconies with some rooms. They confirmed they would try their best and they certainly accommodated our request as our room had a large balcony that could actually have fit a few sun loungers. The room itself I would give a 3/5 for cleanliness. It was a bit tired and the rugs are matted and worn. On the second day we found a sock at the side of the bed which wasn't ours!! I assume it had been brought out by the maids making up the beds that afternoon. My bed sheet had a few small black spots on it right where you pull back the covers to get into bed which almost looked like mould? Beds are made everyday by housekeeping but I think our sheets were only changed once during the week. We also had a slight issue with ants in our room. Around the living room rug, where the sofa bed pulls out, there were quite a few ants milling about and some ventured further out into the room. As they weren't around the bedroom area this didn't bother me too much but I certainly would not have been using the sofa bed if required and I wasn't comfortable to float about the room barefoot. The bed was relatively comfy, spacious and pillows were ok - a couple were a bit lumpy but not terrible. The toilet was clean, had great mirrors (not great lighting), a good shower and we got fresh towels everyday from housekeeping. I was shocked to find that to use the spa you have to pay 7.50 euro per day (or 12 euro for 2 people). That includes all the spa facilities, gym area and use of a towel. I did pay this one day as it was raining and I wanted to go for a swim. If you want to use the indoor pool however you also have to wear a swimming cap which is another 4 euro to buy unless you have your own! Disappointing especially when the weather isn't good enough to use the outdoor pool. The indoor pool was nice and heated. The relaxation area was a bit tired and could be doing with some updating. There's no music in the spa but I had the place to myself so put on my own and enjoyed an hour or so in the pool and reading my book. All in all, an average hotel. Certainly not terrible as some reviews would suggest but not amazing either. Nothing I have mentioned bothered us enough to complain about but in summary, not sure I would return.

"A nice stay in Albufeira"

8.0

The Santa Eulalia Hotel & Spa is billed as a 5 star hotel, which is fairly accurate by European standards, but not by US standards. That said, the location can't be beat - right on a beautiful beach, and walking distance to New Town (10 mins), and if more adventurous, to Old Town (45 mins). The staff was wonderful - extremely friendly and professional. The negative: The first room we were assigned was on the ground floor - had to take the elevator from the lobby level, down 2 floors. Upon exiting the elevator, we walked down a dark hallway that felt quite musty. We entered our room and saw right away that the straw umbrella on our patio was broken - the straw covering was laying on the ground next to the post. I thought perhaps it had just blown off with the high winds, and that someone would be by to repair it. I was mistaken. So after 2 nights of feeling like we were in the basement, we asked to be moved to an upper floor room. The staff was very accommodating. The new room overlooked the parking lot, but since we did not spend much time in our room, it suited us just fine. The only other issue was the extremely slow service at the main lobby bar. There was a large conference going on during our stay, so they could have used more staff. Overall, a nice stay. Would go back again.

"Good value if you just want somewhere to sleep"

6.0

We booked a last minute holiday with free child place for a one bedroom apartment and sort of got what we paid for. First impressions were good with the reception and bar area decorated really nicely. The apartment was clean but a bit tatty with peeling bed base and the "kitchen" was in an alcove with sliding door. The balcony was tiny with only enough room for 2 chairs and there wAs always the smell of cigarettes in the air. We spent most of our time out of the apartment. The area has a good range of restaurants and bars and is walking distance from the Old Town which is lovely. There is a lovely quiet beach just a short walk away. For the price we paid this was good value for money, however we wouldn't choose to stay here again and would opt to spend more to stay somewhere nicer.
