Villa Esmeralda

We had a wonderful stay with our our 2-year old! Communication was great throughout and we were even able to check in a little bit early. The location is perfect and it feels very safe. They provided a travel cot, a high chair as well as a baby bath, which was lovely. The rooms are spacious and the kitchenette has everything you need (though I wish the microwave door opened the other way as it's a bit awkward to get into). They have a good amount of crockery and cutlery too. Private parking is provided, which can be pretty narrow, but it was never so busy that we struggled to get in and out of the garage. The apartment is above the garage, so you can sometimes hear the slamming of the door. Much of the garden area is shared, depending on the other guests it may be noisy, but we found that guests were very respectful. We'd definitely stay again!

Beautiful property and really nicely done. Every need was catered for and everything was really new / high quality / in good condition.

Excellent location and apartment. No breakfast provided , but none was advertised.

The most shocking moment was when I discovered a large cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel and raises doubts about the hygiene standards. Moreover, there were problems with the original booking. Although I was assured on-site that no additional costs would be incurred, these were indeed charged after my return to Germany. Communication with the owner regarding this matter was extremely poor. My inquiries went unanswered, which demonstrates a very unprofessional customer service. The initial assurance on-site, followed by the subsequent billing and the lack of further communication, leaves an impression of unreliability.

Located right in the heart of Ponta Delgada - easy walking distance to/around town. The apartments are very clean, modern and thoroughly equipped. Appreciated that a cleaning is offered every other day as well.

The host was generally unfriendly and very much a penny pincher. While the place was nice, it was also quite expensive (over EUR300/night) so not sure if it's the best value.

Our week-long stay at Villa Esmeralda was wonderful. The property is beautiful, the condo was spacious and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had standard accommodations that including a nice sitting area and a kitchenette. We would definitely book a stay with them when we return to the Azores.
