Grand Hotel Vesuvio

Der Blick auf das Meer und den Vesuv in der Ferne ist traumhaft. Leckere Kuchen auf dem Frühstücksbuffet und sehr zuvorkommende, nette Mitarbeiter. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt und den guten Service genossen.

Die zeitlichen Abfahrten des Shuttlebusses nach Sorrent waren zu gering. Dadurch lange Wartezeiten. Leider auch eine völlig überfüllte Haltestelle vor jeder Rückfahrt. Der Poolbereich ist veraltet. Für den zu zahlenden Hotelpreis hat man höhere Erwartungen.

Stayed 5 nights in Grand Hotel Vesuvio- Sorrento that has a great location overlooking the bay and Mount Vesuvio providing shuttle busses to the city center. The hotel is large with a spacious lobby/terrace and a nice pool, it must have been grand in the good old days. Sadly the rooms are very outdated and though we paid €480 /night basic toiletries were not provided (they did not have a tissue box, conditioner, body lotion, and slippers) they only had shampoo!! Carlo at the reception was very helpful and respectful. I truly hope that management will put in some effort to uplift the overall image of the hotel as it has a prime location with great views.

The hotel was amazing - the staff was very accommodating and the views were great. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. They really make you feel tended to and are lovely people. The rooms could have been cleaner - found some small hairs around that could have been easily vacuumed. Outside of that, loved the room. The hotel breakfast is OK decent variety and a pretty robust juice jar. There could have been some cut fruit out (they had apples to go), and some more gluten free / vegetarian options. The pool is massive and clean. Very easy to find a chair to lay out on. The hotel offers a shuttle to downtown Sorrento, but it is very packed. Try to get in line early. Worst case, you can take a cab but that will cost you around 30€. Would definitely stay here again!

Spent a week at this hotel on Half Board. The food was good and the rooms were spotless. The hotel was quite grand in its day and is well looked after still but in need of an update in the bathrooms and I think they are about to do this, but it wont spoil your stay. The staff are great, very welcoming and very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a shuttle bus to take you up and down into Sorrento and the driver of the shuttle bus is very happy and helpful. The swimming pool at the hotel is very big and there are plenty of sun beds available at all times, its never a problem. A little tip, bring your own shampoo and conditioner.. You can walk down the hill into Sorrento in 15 minutes, but the walk is a bit dodgy and there is a little cut through opposite the hotel, if you do that, its best to do so mid-afternoon when the traffic is Light! Sorrento is lovely and well worth a visit. We booked a trip with Jet2 - we booked the AMALFI PRESTIGE BOAT TRIP, a little expensive, but it was worth every penny…. It was a great day out. The boat normally takes around 14 passengers, but there were only 8 of us and 2 staff and it was magical. We had wonderful weather and had a really good time in AMALFI and Positano. Thoroughly recommended. People we met went the same day on a cheaper trip, and people were being sick and their boat were really full!!.. Cant recommend this hotel and trip enough. Also can recommend a restaurant downtown, run by some local lads, it’s called VRASA (Main Square) just talk to the bar boys and they can direct you there. It is wonderful, very different, and well worth a visit.

What a lovely hotel & a great base to explore the local area! We had a ground floor garden room, which had a patio area and stayed on a half board basis and liked the flexibility of moving our meal to either lunchtime or evening. We used the complimentary shuttle bus into Sorrento daily. Great location and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend!
