Days Inn by Wyndham Houston East

The stay was good.

Nothing.

To be honest, the room smelled terrible, and the towels were dirty, and that's a deal breaker. I asked the front desk for fresh towels, and he told me he didn't have a key to the room to get towels, and I would have to wait until the morning. So that meant I couldn't take a shower because he didn't think to get towels from a vacant room to give to me. How can you clean a room and not have fresh towels? One of the towels had blood on it. That was disgusting in itself. The freezer part on the refrigerator was nasty. The only reason I stayed was because I didn't want the hassle of trying to get my money back, and I was too tired to drive.

The gentleman at check-in was great- welcoming, courteous and professional. Room was clean and everything in working order. The property is quiet and safe.

Reserved smoking room. Got non- smoking. Pool was very small and not cleaned. No iron- blow dryer in room. Breakfast was crap and staff eating and not guests. Too far from destination when it was to be few miles away.

Scraps for breakfast. Staff eating the breakfast not guests. Hair dryer broken in room. No iron in room. Reserved smoking room- given non- smoking & offered ashtray to go outside to smoke. Wifi did not extend to parking lot.

We didn’t even get to stay at this hotel. We booked with the pay at the hotel option. Because we had a late flight, we sent an email to the hotel that we would be checking in around 9. When we finally get to the hotel, they let us know our reservation was canceled at 7:30 because they were trying to charge our card and it declined. We explained that was because our card was locked due to us being told we were to pay at the resort. We showed proof that that’s the type of booking we had and the rude manager/owner came out and said he doesn’t understand why Booking.com keeps doing this. First he said he can give us another room & then quickly changed his mind. He wanted to argue with us for over 10 mins about the policy and telling us we were wrong and etc Then when he had enough of being rude, he just said “well I have no more rooms” and walked away. Leaving us stranded late at night, in a city we never been to and have to salvage to find shelter last minute. Customer service was TERRIBLE!!!! 0/10!
