The staff, facilities, food, entertainment and location were all fantastic. A very warm welcome, and the staff were always ready to help. I went as a solo traveller, and even though the hotel seemed much better for couples, I still had a really enjoyable time during the day when around the hotel. The solarium and the pool were awesome, I was happy spending most of my downtime days at the hotel using those. The shower was good and spacious in my room - always able to get hot water at the right pressure, although I was the same height as the larger shower head so I had to slightly bend when washing my hair - but I could've used the smaller shower head anyway. One thing that always impressed me was how good the hotel smelled as you walked around and used the stairs, even though the majority of areas were open-air. Very close to bus links in either direction, and an easy walk to the dunes. There's a supermarket next door and it's a few mins walk from a few different restaurant/bar areas.

Arguably, the most important thing for a hotel is the quality of sleep guests get. Unfortunately I didn't manage a full night of good quality sleep once, and I was getting fed up towards the end of my stay. Even after a day of hiking up to Pico de las Nieves, and my body being knackered, after a few hours I'd wake up at 2am so uncomfortable in the single bed I was given. I was aware I could have received two singles or a double bed, but seriously I think the hotel needs to have as few single beds as possible - they suck, especially when you're over 6 foot and want to stretch out like me. Honestly, the foam-filled poolside loungers felt comfier than the bed. I waited until I got home and slept in my own bed before I wrote this - I've just slept through the night perfectly. The storage space for clothes/personal items was fine for just me, but if there were two of us in the room then there wasn't enough storage/shelving. On most mornings there were waste/recycling trucks doing their routes and you could hear beeping/bashing and glass smashing anywhere between 5-7am. This may depend where your room is situated, but I was floor 5. If you're a heavy sleeper that can sleep on anything without caring too much, then I wouldn't worry.
