Some guests next to us were very noisy throughout the night. They woke up around 4am and start playing loud music and talking very loud

We were really looking forward to a peaceful stay at Africamps, but it ended up being far noisier than expected. The staff were often very loud, walking and talking right next to our tent. At one point, a staff member was speaking extremely loudly right next to our car, which is directly outside the bedroom window — not ideal when you’re trying to rest or unwind. The quad bikes were especially disruptive. They use them to deliver things around the camp, and they are incredibly loud as they pass the tents throughout the day. Even though we spent most of the day in Kruger, when we came back hoping to enjoy a quiet lunch outside, the staff arrived to clean our outdoor area. A staff member even started using a power drill nearby. It felt intrusive and poorly timed, especially since all of this could have been done while we were out. We ended up eating inside on a beautiful day, which was disappointing. Our last night was extremely loud from other guests. I tried to call Africamps on 3 different numbers. One phone line was disconnected and the other one was a call centre and the third one just rang out. Previous reviews have mentioned the same things we have mentioned and the responses from Africamps are always stock standard and promise to look into things or review their practices or they state no other guests complained. The tent itself is lovely and the dam makes for a beautiful setting, but I would strongly recommend not booking Tent 1. It’s right next to the main road, and the constant staff activity and quad bike noise make it hard to relax. At 5:30am, we had people fishing right outside our tent and kids playing football making a huge amount of noise. Overall, this is not a peaceful getaway. Maybe great for families but definitely not for couples. The location has potential, but the noise levels make it difficult to enjoy the experience.
