Hotel Blue Spring

The owners were an understanding couple, allowed me a late check out, which is appreciated.

No Breakfast, despite being advertised & paying for a Breakfast included stay. Nothing served apart from black coffee in a flask. Paying for a Breakfast included option should not mean something..

Very comfortable bed and pillows. Remodeled bath and tastefully decorated. Quiet upstairs room. Close to restaurants and shopping. It was clean.

Strong cleaning smell that lasted 2 days. When the smell wore off there was a faint cigarette odor. Advertised breakfast but reality was not great coffee and Twinkies. Staff appeared to be nervous or fearful behind enclosed glass with a tiny hole to pass credit cards through. Made me feel like there was lots of crime there so I felt unsafe.

I decided to give this hotel a try but i was wrong and should have chosen a better known hotel. I had to change rooms 2x due to staff not changing the sheets. This hotel has a roach infested problem along with bed bugs. There was hair all on the sheets roaches crawling around in the bathroom and the bath towels had hair all on them So bad i quickly just showered and gathered my things and just slept in my car in the parking lot. The hotel has long term tenants. A word of wisdom just choose a better hotel and not a raoch and bed bug infested hotel

The location was sketchy. There were a few suspicious people hanging around outside.

When we went to the room, the bedding was dirty. The room smelled stale and moldy. We immediately check mouth as soon as we checked in. I would never recommend this hotel.

I was asked for a deposit for my service animal and told that it would be returned after my checkout but you aren’t supposed to be charged for a service animal and I was never charged in the past. This just started happening recently because the housekeepers pass up our room and won’t knock and ask if we need service so we can take the dog out and let them clean. Then on checkout day, they complain about dog hair on the floors but they don’t do their job! If you stay multiple days they expect you to do their job and when I stayed for a week, I was! I used my own cleaning supplies. Also, the older woman at the desk is horrible! After my stay my daughter left her phone and I called in about it. The lady described the phone to me, with me as I was explaining and when I told her I was coming to retrieve it, she suddenly switched up and said it wasn’t there! I ended up having to call the police and still never got my daughter’s phone back although it shows it’s still there. I had to make a police report for theft! Why would the staff steal from the guest? Especially a child.

Location

The older staff members need training on how to treat guests or if they don’t like someone, they just shouldn’t check them in. It’s that simple. Don’t check guests in and then treat them badly while they stay and make them regret purchasing a room or rooms with you!

The bed was comfortable, though a bit tall to get on comfortably.

Mold in the bathroom, I paid for a lake view and there was none, paid for hot breakfast and there was none.
