First impression was not good as their was a tramp camping out near the front entrance.. He was however moved on! The hotel is well located for the main sight seeing areas and restaurants in the city. However,as it located opposite the main station it can be a bit noisy and there were a few suspect looking people hanging around. On the plus side it is good value.
We arrived in Rouen at 8:30 at night and had to return to Paris on the 6:30 train the next morning and needed a cheap, close to the train station and comfortable hotel just for the one night. The Hotel Astrid was perfect for us, seeing as it is literally across the street from the train station and VERY affordable. However, I would not recommend it for an extended stay, and if you are staying with young children, do NOT let them flip through the TV channels unsupervised because there are only 5 channels and one of them is porn.
