"Very kind staff, very helpful"

Very good location, very good value for money. The staff is very kind and helpful It is the only hotel near the station with a lift and wheelchair friendly. The breakfast room is on the 6th floor with a nice view. The breakfast is simple but fresh

The hotel is very convenient to the train station. The rooms are neat and clean. The beds are very comfortable. Our room was a bit smelly, but our travel companion’s room was fine. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

"Reception great - hotel poor - location great."

4.0

Some things can be too cheap. The good was the receptionist with the beard, friendly - helpful, getting us a kettle, cups and some teabags on the first evening. The location was also good (although a LOT of road works going on during area refurbishment). Room (16) was horrible. Small, dingy, not very clean, no tea or coffee facilities, big heavy radiator moves as not fixed to the wall. Felt dirty. Bathroom stupidly small and barely functional - I am 6ft and medium build and I could not sit in the normal position on the toilet pan as no room for knees to allow facing forward. Reaching for toilet paper required acrobatics. Towels thin and or some old fraying. Utterly ridiculous the lack of space in the bathroom. Shower sprays out onto and soaks the floor as no curtain and only half a wall to keep water in. As a result base of door has 3 inches of pealing paint and door is warped so wont shut when you do try to go to the toilet in privacy. TV was very small for this day and age. Stairs to first floor so badly lit you could easily have an accident and fall. Auto lighting sensors on our corridor didn't operate well. Sound insulation also poor between rooms. Cleaners didn't knock but tried to come in to clean by trying the door (fortunately was locked). Other staff were rude. Breakfast (8 euro 50 each) was dire. We got there 45 minutes before the end of the time slot and there was little food remaining and what was left was a poor selection of continental items. Nothing cooked. Unpleasant and at this price felt ripped off. Don't waste your money, there are plenty of places selling basic breakfast items for half that price, one even inside the station that looked quite nice. I can't see why anyone would choose to stay here even at this price. I should have scrutinized the photos and read more of the reviews before booking.

"Great location, good price, nice room"

8.0

The hotel is situated directly opposite the SNCF railway station in Rouen, making for a great central location. We (a couple in their mid 40s travelling on a budget) encountered two reception staff during our brief stay - both were very friendly, one was especially helpful and wanting to ensure we were comfortable (thank you, it is greatly appreciated from a mid-budget hotel). Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable considering we paid about €50 for one night. Absolutely no complaints. Based on our stay, we would recommend it to anyone wanting a very comfortable overnight stay on a budget. Tip: reception is manned 24 hours a day.

"Decent hotel, bad breakfast"

6.0

The room was good, convenient location and friendly staff. The downside was the breakfast we paid extra for. There was no staff in the breakfast room. Most of the tables were dirty, few clean dishes to use and they were out of several items (fruit). To charge extra for breakfast and then ignore it is very poor. The front desk girl was not very responsive when we voiced our concerns.

"Nice hotel about 100m from the railway station. "

Close to the railway station and easy to walk to all of the historical sites, restaurants and bars. Terrible wifi here. Almost non-existent. But otherwise quite comfy.

OK for one night in transit. Friendly reception. Located directly opposite station, limited restaurants nearby. Bathroom extremely small and toilet badly positioned - uncomfortable to use!

"Pleasant"

6.0

This mid range hotel is clean and quiet and very conveniently located opposite the station. The staff are cheerful and ready to help. The rooms are small, but not tiny and the beds are comfortable. My only problem was the wifi. The front rooms have almost no reception and while the back rooms (ending in 5,6 or 7) have reception, it's not always possible to log in. The breakfast room on the 6th floor (there is an elevator) always seems to have reception. I would choose to stay here again.

"A minimalist place to stay"

This hotel was more like a student hostel. There's not much to it other than a convenient location.

"Handy for everything & everywhere."

10.0

A comfortable budget hotel in Rouen's city centre - It's well up to scratch for a budget hotel.. It's NOT five star - only breakfast is served here - so NO silver service or frills here, but we were most satisfied with the Hotel Astrid and we were glad that we elected to stay here..
