Galle Fort Hotel

Beautiful location, great service and a great cocktail bar. Basically everything you need in a luxury hotel.

One small thing is that the hot water wasn’t working properly. We kept getting 2 minutes of warm water and the it became colder. But not so cold that you couldn’t shower anymore. The hotel staff really tried to fix it but it was a bit more difficult to fix so quickly.

A 300-year-old Dutch mansion that has been beautifully renovated into a charming boutique hotel. The food was fantastic, and the service was truly first-class. In particular, Rayan was incredibly friendly and always on hand whenever anything was needed. The location inside the old fort is perfect, and the rooms are beautifully furnished, spacious, and very comfortable. One of the highlights is Ropewalk, one of the best cocktail bars in Sri Lanka, serving the most spectacular and unique cocktails we’ve ever had. We will undoubtedly be staying here again on our next visit to Sri Lanka. Absolutely first class!

Music in the night

Great location - beautiful building, great interiors and pool. Very large room. An oasis in the middle of Galle Fort.

The room is a little noisy (loft suite), we could hear next door going up and down their stairs as it’s a very very old building so a little creaky - but it does add to the charm. Hotel might want to think about adding a few more softer furnishings or a wall covering to help dampen some of the sound.
