Hilton Garden Inn Fredericksburg

Front desk and chamber maids were friendly and helpful and happy. They said hello in halls and asked if everything ok. They didnot ignore you, were the 1st to say hello It was nice to be there. These are important little things that are really big things.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Hilton Garden Inn, specifically in the lobby restaurant area, which appears to be the same shared space as the hotel lobby. I was on a business sales trip and seated at a table with two clients. Staff asked us to move, which we did without issue. Later, when the restaurant and lobby were completely empty and we were the only guests present, we returned to the same table. A staff member took our order; I requested water and stated we would order shortly. The staff member then commented that we had “rented rooms in the back” and implied we should use those instead, despite the space being empty and the table being in what appeared to be a shared lobby/restaurant area. Midway through a quiet business presentation, the fire alarm was suddenly activated, forcing us to leave the area. Afterward, staff openly spoke negatively about us to other guests. This experience felt intentional, hostile, and extremely unprofessional. It was embarrassing in front of clients and not at all what I would expect from a Hilton-branded property. I would strongly discourage using this location for business meetings or expecting professional treatment in shared lobby spaces.

We didn't have breakfast because only the $19.95 buffet was offered. Much higher than earlier stays, when you could order from a menu. Location is good.

Paying $5 for parking. Another unwelcome change since we last stayed there.

The staff were friendly. And it was clean. We were able to get our room up in arrival.

The only issue i had was I had to pay to park. I already paid for the room so it made no sense into why I had to pay to park. It was only $5 which was not a lot and I didn't mind i just wish I knew ahead of time. Also I had a stand up shower and no bath tub for my baby.

The hotel was clean and the room was nice.

The front desk staff did not know how to split the room between two guests. Upon checkout, when I asked for a receipt, they gave me a partial receipt and said that it was the full receipt. When I said that that could not be right, because it was only $66.74, she couldn't see the charges that were submitted to the other credit card. Our friends in another room asked us if we paid for parking and we had not. Our friend went to the desk to complain that she was charged for parking and we weren't, so the front desk charged my credit card for parking AFTER I had departed the hotel and AFTER I had been provided a receipt that did not include the parking fee.
