City River Hotel

A lovely and quiet hotel in a central location. Staff helpful and rooms very clean. The only downside for us was that breakfast was served until 8:30am, which we felt was too early to close.

Fantastic hotel. I was surprised myself. This was my visit to Siem Reap after 6 years. The hotel has a fantastic location - near Pub Street, and at the same time in a quiet and intimate place. Below the hotel there is a restaurant and a cafe serving very good meals. The hotel itself is very comfortable with nice rustic furniture, Very tastefully decorated. Nice swimming pool on the roof. The rooms were cleaned every day. The hotel staff was very nice.

If I wrote something here I would be lying. There really was nothing to find fault with.

This is a nice, medium-sized older hotel. Siem Reap tourism has not recovered from Covid and some of the larger luxury hotels, including Raffels, are closed and just trying to maintain their property until demand from large tour groups returns. City River Hotel is operating with a reduced staff and and reduced amenities - the rooftop swimming pool is open, the adjacent bar is not. Breakfast buffet is adequate with a few Khmer options each day. I was content with my stay and understand the difficulty of just maintaining basic services during this time. This hotel is ideally located in a quiet area with many small restaurants and coffee shops (not all of which take credit cards - ask if that's important to you) within a 2-4 block walk. It's about a 10-15 minute walk or less than 5 minute tuk-tuk ride (cost $1) to the entertainment district. There are many hotel options closer to action but it can be quite noisy outside until 4-5 am. A friend of mine who's living there on a budget picked it for me, I thought it was a reasonable value for the money. I would probably go a little more upscale next time

The location was superb quite but close to all the night life - rooms where large and bathroom large

The bed was so uncomfortable and hard l had the staff come up and had to put a plastic mattress on top which was of no good0The mattress it self was very dirty and used 0 the aircon worked but on full and the noise was very loud - the tv did not work sound and picture was dreadful - was advised by the front desk not to have breakfast but go across the road - i tried the breakfast and was dreadful limited and very basic -pool was open no towels or any thing like the pictures on the site - i think overall the place is going broke as nothing is being spent on it being up keep - l left after 2 days, l was to stay 5
