Alto Hotel On Bourke

Situated near Southern Cross Station this is a great mid range priced hotel. We arrived early and they held our bags whilst we explored Melbourne and had them in our room when we arrived back. The room wasn’t large but was comfortable and had a sink, microwave and fridge if you didn’t feel like eating out. There is a lounge downstairs and a small cafe. For the price this is a great hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Bed was comfortable

No working bedside lamps. I thought it was overpriced for what was a pretty basic room.

The hotel for the cost was exceptional, good rooms with excellent facilities eg comfy bed, plenty of towels, desk and comfy chairs and clean kitchen area.

The bed was pretty bad - single bed which was fine, but the mattress seemed to be on an angle (like it was very old). Location was great for us - catching the train home. Room was fine although the first room they were putting my son and I in was much better - had to be moved though to have 2 singles rather than 1 King.

The shower curtain was pretty mouldy - maybe time to purchase a new one. Kitchen Tap was wonky. These things don't bother me, but it would upset some people expecting everything to be perfect. The room was clean though.

One air conditioner remote not working. Have reported it to management.

Fabulous location, friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were clean.

Facilities were a little dated but for the price pretty good anyway
