Das Hotel liegt schön und hat auch ein schönes grünes Gelände am Fluss. Das Gelände ist jedoch eingezäunt und der Fluss nur durch ein Tor zu erreichen, welches am Sonntag geöffnet war, am Montagmorgen jedoch nicht. Es gibt einen tollen großen Pool und zwei gute Restaurants. Johann aus dem Servicepersonal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Der irgendwann neu gebaute Pool ist schön, aber….

Im Zimmer Nr.9 oberhalb des Restaurants herrscht im Badezimmer ein sehr übler Geruch aus den Abflüssen. Wir haben durch Wasserlaufenlassen alles versucht, den Geruch zu minimieren, hat nicht geklappt. Die gute Atmosphäre am schönen Pool wird durch die komplett defekten Liegen und Tische immens gestört. Diese sollte man schnell entfernen, denn sie geben der Umgebung eine heruntergekommene Atmosphäre. An manchen Stellen besteht erheblicher Renovierungsbedarf (Löcher im Strohdach des Restaurants, defekter Bodenbelag rund um einen Brunnen etc.) . Sehr schade, da die Lage des Hotels sehr schön ist.

Breakfast at the italian restaurant was good and great value.

Having a room overtop of a restaurant. Could not open the curtains in the room. Noisy at night until all guests at the reataurant left. Bats in the hallway by our room. Overall did not like the room set up.

An excellent restaurant.

A bit dated and not great sound proofing.

We stayed in twin queen-bed room 4 on the first floor overlooking the restaurant. The room was fine with effective, quiet aircon and all the items you need. There was a birthday party taking place in the restaurant in the late afternoon, early evening which included a mariachi band. It was slightly noisy but not an imposition; being quite fun. It didn't interrupt our brief time at the hotel. We dined at the Italian restaurant having the best pizza we'd experienced in our 3 weeks in Costa Rica. The pool and pool bar look good and the whole area is very effectively lit at night. The reason for staying here was to be relatively close to SJO for our late afternoon flight out, being around an hour's drive. This worked well. I think the hotel can arrange transport to SJO and possibly transport from SJO.

Nothing in-particular, nothing that warrants anything like a complaint. We waited for what seemed a long time to be seated at the restaurant, which was now free of the birthday party but had some clean-up ongoing. Interestingly some guests already in the restaurant noticed our slight but growing impatience and came over to tell us to simply get a table, rather than waiting for the staff to seat us. The chap humorously said, "This is Costa Rica, just get your table". We then had really good anti-pasti and pizza, so it was worth waiting for.

The staff and accommodation were exceptional

Het team van Poza Blanca Lodge doet er echt alles aan om het je naar het zin te maken. En dat is gelukt. Een heerlijke plek! Het eten, het zwembad, de kamer (neem de grote), de natuur. San Mateo is niet toeristisch en dat is leuk.
