Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Aberdeen, SD

I arrived for check-in at 5:30 pm. At check-in, I was informed that in spite of my confirmation email, which clearly stated I had reserved a room with a King sized bed, that i would be receiving a room with 2 Queen beds instead. When I inquired about why, after verifying my reservation confirmation as asked, I was told that they must have over booked and they had no King Rooms available. How is this MY problem?? I reserved the room, I had the confirmation email for said reservation and still I got nowhere. The snooty female clerk said it simply wasn't her fault and there was NOTHING (<-- said in all caps) that she could do about it, and simply moved on the next person in line. Not only was I not given any compensation for my trouble, I never ever even received so much as an "I'm sorry that this has happened...." That's what is most disappointing of all. I will not stay at a Fairfield ever again if I have anything to say about it, certainly NOT at the Fairfield in Aberdeen, SD!!

We celebrated a 5 yr olds birthday. The little kids enjoyed the pool. The pool is smaller than most pools so it can get crowded. The hot tub was very warm! We had cake and pizza in the breakfast area. This was also our Easter gathering. We always choose the Fairfield because it is up to date and clean.

Easy, convenient, nice check in staff

I travel for work. This was the single worst experience in all my 30-plus years of travel. I arrived late, and the desk person was incapable of checking me in. I had a reservation and had paid online, but the payment was non-refundable. Upon arrival, they charged my card and an additional amount but said it didn't go through. I showed them it did. They asked me to leave.
