"It’s passable just about for an overnight stay I guess."

5.0

The homemade cod, chips and mushy peas were very good and fairly priced. Other than a bit of noise from revellers drinking at the bar below ( it’s a pub after all, so was half expecting this when booking), it’s situated in a quiet area. The room was clean and warm enough.

I had booked a twin room with two single bed and was reassured that this was the case. As it turned out I ended up having to top and tail in a double bed with two single beds joined together and with one duvet. With that, the mattresses aren’t exactly on the quality side of things either, rather flimsy. And the television doesn’t have terrestrial aerial connections so you have to try and guess how to get channels from an outdated tv via iPlayer. The bathroom is very small but serves its purpose. Having a shave in the sink would be similar to trying to have a wet shave using a large mug. For those with any mobility issues there’s no lift so you are aware but, having said that there aren’t many stairs to negotiate ( about 15 shallow ones I guess ).
