Albergo Somont

Breakfast was great. They had good options and prices for dinner too. There is a bus stop that takes you down to the center of Ortisei right outside Albergo Somont. However, it's good to be aware that the last bus is around 7 pm during the week and earlier on the weekend. Without the bus or a car, it would be a bit of a walk, especially in winter weather. The room was clean and my balcony had an incredible view of the mountains and was a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset.

My pillow wasn't the most comfortable.

We genuinely can't decide what we loved the most about this hotel—the stunning location, the warm and welcoming staff, the charming interior, the breathtaking views from our room, or the incredible homemade dinners. Everything was simply perfect! Every day, we felt grateful to be staying here, as it truly has it all. The first bus stop to the city is conveniently located right in the hotel parking lot, making transportation effortless. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Despite the language barrier—we don’t speak a word of German or Italian, and their English isn’t fluent—communication was never an issue. Their kindness and willingness to help made all the difference. Our room had everything we needed: ample storage, a comfortable table and chair, and a spacious terrace with breathtaking mountain views—sure to be even more enjoyable in warmer weather. After a long, freezing day on the slopes, stepping into a scorching hot shower was absolute bliss. If you're considering dining elsewhere, don’t! The in-house meals were hands down the most delicious we had during our stay. Every bite was a testament to the love and care put into the cooking. The hotel also offers ski storage with boot warmers. All in all, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to return!

Great place to stay, quiet and few hike paths next to the hotel. Good breakfast and welcoming owner. Came in october, it was a bit chilly outside, but the room was nice and warm.

Mattress could be softer. Seemed a bit firm.

Awesome local cuisine. Rich breakfast, excellent view. Free public transport is incredible advantage. Even the English is not a preferred language here, we were able to manage everything :)

Excellent location with fantastic views. The hosts were very hospitable and pleasant people. Food options were limited but everything was home made in their kitchen and considering the location it was fantastic. There are some other restaurants within walking distance that had more options if one wanted something more fancy. Close to the city (5 min drive) from where all the cable car lifts start. Don’t miss the walk behind this house, up to the St Jakob church - beautiful views.

A little cramped room if you were carrying big suitcases but we had mostly small backpacks and carry on size bags.

- Really silent and peaceful location 2km from Ortisei city center, still only a 30min walk to every cable car/funicular station in Ortisei and St. Jakob hiking routes goes right by the guest house - Amazing views to every direction: to the valley, mountain Sassolungo and even to a small waterwall!! Cute animals outside - There was a restaurant where we ate delicious traditional food with a good price and the breakfast was good (suitable for a vegetarian also) - The host was really friendly and helpful even though we didn’t have a common language

- Prepare to pay the tourist tax in cash - You get a free bus card after check-in and the bus stop is at the hotel’s front yard but notice that the guest house is 2km uphill from Ortisei city center so if the bus doesn’t work or if you miss the last bus it’s going to be a sweaty walk up or taxi (there was a road work during our stay and we had to walk up every day)
