amazing little gem stayed a lot of places but this was amazing getaway

Got to return here after 15 years as I was cycling the Fabulous 4th event. The place was not in the same condition as last time. It appeared dated and could use an overall facelift. Has potential. I'm sure the lack of travel during the pandemic hurt them like all other resorts.

Excellent staff. Poor wifi to our cabin. No hot food service as their chef had left recently. Historic property. My third visit and property seemed less busy than before. Probably due to rise of Equestrian Center. Overall pleased with stay.

We enjoyed a beautiful surrounding, so quiet we heard many birds, and smelled beautiful flowers.

This property is cute but in terrible shape. This property needs to be sold or invested in to regain charm. The lobby smells of cat urine. The accommodations are “cute” but are horribly dated and needs major modern renovation work. In summer, our air conditioning was unsatisfactory in the upper suite/cottage. We left early.

My wife and I stayed here 15 years ago and have been wanting to go back now that we've moved back to the upstate. I'm glad we only booked one night, because it appears nothing has been done to the rooms in the last 15 years. Yes, it's a very old inn, and the workers are super nice and helpful, but a simple can of WD-40 would do wonders at this place. Opening the door to our King room probably woke anyone who may have been sleeping in the building. The toilet didn't want to flush, and in the middle of my shower the showerhead decided to stop working (I had to splash water from the tub faucet on myself to get soap off my body). All that to say, the biggest disappointment was the fact there was no hot breakfast available. I understand that hiring is difficult now, but if a 'bed and breakfast' isn't going to serve breakfast, they should probably let people know before coming. Serving cereal and yogurt and giving a very small credit to our account wasn't worth it at all. If the innkeeper is planning to keep this wonderful inn open and running (and wants to charge $200+ per night), some serious work needs to be done to get the inn up to standard!!

I left a neutral 3 star review, after trying to call for over 4 hours with no response and being sent to voicemail every time. As a result, I get a call from the owner who cancelled my stay because of my neutral or “negative” comment, as he thought. He did not have any care as to why I commented that. He just automatically assumed the worst and cancelled me, based on the fact that he got a “negative” review. This is completely unacceptable business! I was truly looking forward to staying at the B&B, but as a result of his complete and utter lack of care for customer service and attempts at customer satisfaction and improvements, I will NEVER stay at this establishment!!! Buyer Beware!!!
