I waited 40 minutes to check in at 2PM because there was no staff at the property. No receptionist, no housekeeping, and nobody answered the phone when I tried calling. After 40 minutes, someone finally arrived to let me in. The hotel has two floors. The lower floor, where the reception and some rooms are located, smells extremely bad like mold and dampness, to the point where it’s hard to breathe. The second floor seems recently renovated and was much cleaner and fresher. There were multiple maintenance issues in the room. The bathroom door handle was broken so I couldn’t properly close or lock the door. The sink tap was also broken, so there was no running water to wash hands. There is also a gap under/around the hotel room door, allowing mosquitoes to come inside. The restaurant next to my room was under full renovation during my stay. It was very loud, messy, and dirty. Construction workers stayed awake all night talking loudly and playing cards, making it difficult to sleep. Another concern was the safety box in the room. It was not bolted to the wall, meaning anyone could simply take the entire safe, which does not feel secure at all.
