Mela Villas

Everything was great, the villla is superb. The location is away from the croudy turistical points but still only 5 minutes by car to beach, markets, bakery, coffee shops and taverns. Pool is great size with warm water and the owners check the water quality every day, inside of the villa is very pritty, clean and spacious. The owners come and clean the villa often. The owners are very helpful and nice people.

We just returned from a lovely week staying in Villa Mela 'Orange'. Firstly, the host, Mathaios was superb, from pre-arrival comms to leaving us a surprise present of his own raki and organic olive oil one morning! The villa was impeccably clean and well-equipped, especially the kitchen (one of the little things but that makes a difference was the presence of tupperware containers for leftovers etc). Bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. It was very helpful having a washing machine in the bathroom to do a pre-departure wash, but the washing machine instructions are not the most clear (the temperature indicator and wash cycle indicators are the same, so it looks like you can't wash cooler than 60C, but it's all fine!). The pool was amazing, cleaned every day and so warm we didn't want to get out at the end of the day! We dined in most evenings but Taverna Katerina in Maroulas is worth a visit for the amazing food and views across the countryside to the sea.

The catch on the kettle lid was broken so you needed to be a little careful pouring out freshly boiled water, but apart from that, we had nothing to complain about, it was a great place to stay.

The villa was exceptionally clean and a real "home from home". The pool area and barbeque were excellent! The property was a fantastic base to explore this area of Crete. You will need your own transport to make the best of your stay here if you intend to see something of Crete while you are on holiday. We hired a car so this wasn't an issue for us. The villa is really easy to find from the directions provided. The host Manthos and his family made us feel really welcome and provided us with local recommendations to make our stay more enjoyable. They also left us little gifts throughout our stay which made it even more special! I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this property - 5 stars!

We had a fantastic time at this villa. Location was good and quiet. Villa was clean and comfortable with everything we needed and then some. Housekeeping was also great and often. Checking in n checkout was super easy and stress free, we were even allowed to book in a little bit earlier than first agreed upon. Host was friendly and responsive. We loved it and would come back!

Nicely furnished. Decor good. Pool very nice if a wee bit small.

The only thing that was annoying was a neighbours dog across the road. Barked incessantly from about 6.15 am for a good hour or more!!!

Great villa, with all facilities offered as described. The host was very helpful with every question or request we had during our stay. The pool was very clean, and well maintained!
