Alp de Veenen Hotel

We like it because it’s in Amstelveen and that’s where we needed to be for this trip.

The property is quite outdated and has not gone any refurbishment. Example, the alarm locks on the rooms beep when you open it. Meaning, if someone arrives in the other room and you are sleeping, you wake up from the alarm just because they are opening the door. The doorknobs are also wobbly especially in the toilet, you cannot close it properly. There is also no barrier in the bathroom, so if you shower, the entire bathroom will flood because of it. Some corners are quite dirty from stains or rust. If you as a guest, do not mind that, then it’s comfortable if you need to be in the location.

Breakfast is not buffet, limited. The hotel needs urgent renovation. Window shades not working, tap at the bathtub is broken. Half of the 25 tv channels not working, remote needs new batteries. No air conditioning, just a fan. With windows open it is noisy because of the nearby highway construction. With windows closed you hear the continuous noise of air suction in the bathroom all the time. If you close the bathroom door then it stinks in there. The room was cleaned only on the third day. Some of the electricity wall plugs are not working. I could not get my invoice, check out and leave my bag there because nobody was at the reception on a weekday at around 9am.

Wir haben überraschend ein Upgrade zu einer Suite bekommen, Personal war sehr freundlich, Zimmer waren sauber, mit Terrasse, betten waren sehr bequem, Frühstück war ausreichend und es wurde immer wieder etwas angeboten, man konnte mit Bus und Bahn alles sehr gut erreichen. TOP !
