The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama

Highly recommend for anyone traveling to Tenerife. Outstanding hotel and property. Dedicated service and amazing overall experience. Highly recommend. I will return soon and the bed, and everything about this hotel is amazing. 5 star hotel

One or two challenges were dealt with swiftly and effectively by the team and particular compliments to Gonzalo and Joao Couto for their kindness. The Club area is indeed some experience and Joao and his team should be complimented for their responsiveness

We’ve just come back from a fantastic stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Abama. It came highly recommended, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly so we could really relax. We’d asked for a quiet room in the Citadel, and we were really pleased — it was spacious, super comfortable, and in a great spot. The food was a big highlight. We had some amazing dinners, and the breakfast each morning was excellent. We especially loved Verde Mar — the food was full of flavour and had great vegan and vegetarian options. Most of the restaurants catered well for plant-based choices, but Verde Mar really stood out. The poolside restaurant, Txoko, was a bit of a let-down in comparison. The setting is lovely, but the menu felt limited and didn’t offer the same value or experience as the other places. The Beach Club was a lovely spot for lunch — the salad was fresh and generous, and the view was stunning. We also had a massage at the spa, which was absolutely top notch — really relaxing, and the spa area itself is beautifully serene. It was very quiet while we were there. If prices were a bit more accessible, I think more people would use it. The resort runs a range of fitness classes. Some are free and others aren’t — it would have been nice if a few more were included, especially since the free ones were the best attended. All in all, we had a brilliant time. It’s a beautiful, well-run resort with attention to detail and genuinely lovely service. We’ll definitely come back. Highly recommended

I absolutely love this hotel. This was my second visit and this time we stayed at a villa with a semi-private pool which was bliss. Breakfast every day at El Mirador was superb. Loved the beach club concept with free lunch/drinks and afternoon tea/cocktails. The room was beautiful. We ate at Akira Back (ridiculously overpriced- would not recommend) but El Mirador restaurant was great. Hotel were so helpful with booking taxis etc. We loved the spa and had fantastic treatments there. I really felt the hotel went above and beyond and can’t wait for my next stay. If you can stretch to it - the villas are the way to go versus the Citadel.

This was the most incredible experience for me. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I felt at home. The restaurants are amazing and the view is just awesome. The staff is on it and your request are always taken into consideration. Specially the concierge team ( Gaida) was very helpful to me and made me feel the love. It was a truely remarkable experience.

Amazing location, pools and service

Our third visit to the Ritz Carlton in Abama and I will start by saying WOW ! We stayed in the Adults Only area of the Retreat which is the equivalent to the Hotel's Club level. The rooms are away from the main hotel in lanes with gardens and pools to separate them. The room was spacious and comfortable with really good air conditioning. The Housekeeping service was excellent, and the room was immaculately clean and always well stocked with dry towels and toiletries. We always appreciate the turn down services that seem so rare these days but very nicely done here each evening. The Retreat has a choice of pool areas all looked after by friendly and competent lifeguards and service staff to serve the drinks and food. There are snacks available throughout the day, and drinks by the pool are complimentary as are the food presentations which a really excellent. In particular the lunchtime Tapas and afternoon sweet buffet which varied every day and irresistible (sadly leading to weight increase as I could not say no !). Breakfast in El Mirador was superb, with a lovely view. We ate in El Mirador for dinner, along with meals in Verona and MB all of which were excellent with superb service, where attention to detail was very evident. In all honesty this was a real 5 star experience. Every detail was taken care of and although we did not have any issues I know that the team here would do their best to help if that had of been. Everyone was so helpful, friendly and kind with a genuine attitude of care. We honestly cannot wait to go back........... highly recommend!

The rooms were lovely, comfortable and clean and the restaurant food was good. However, I was appalled at the noise in the evenings (so loud I couldn't sleep) because the hotel was so large and more like a conference centre. I chose to stay at the Ritz because I wanted a calm and serene experience, not a 4-star conference centre with good food and drunk delegates in the evening. We had a junior suite in the Citaldel; it was undoubtedly much quieter if you had one of the Villas nearer to the beach. The service by the pool was slow, as was the service in the restaurants. I would not return. Location also wasn't great a taxi was needed to go anywhere outside of the hotel. Although we were aware of this prior to booking.

We have just literally left from having the most amazing holiday. A true five star hotel. Staff couldn’t do enough to help, the food was out of this world and the ambience was so relaxing. We had a very small issue on the first day, which was more than put right and compensated. We were listened to and understood. The hotel genuinely wants to ensure that their guests are having the best experience. Very impressed! What an incredible hotel. (Duvan and Karim- impeccable service) Thank you!
