Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel

Characterful hotel in a good location.

Air conditioning in the room had a weak output. Breakfast in Miller and Carter franchised restaurant on site was average and not value for money (£18).

The location was perfect, the building was beautiful and the breakfast was really good.

It was a hot day and the air-conditioning wasn't working, so it was hot in the room.

Spacious comfortable room. Close to Bristol Beacon where I was attending a concert. Nice ambience.

The sink in the bathroom was completely blocked. This raises questions about cleaning as the person cleaning the room should have noticed this and reported it. Breakfast is overpriced.

Good central location. Lots of parking including for electric cars. Reception desk staff helpful. To the duty manager’s credit he refunded half the cost of the room to compensate for the problems.

I was overcharged on arrival and had to seek a refund. The hotel also tried to charge for a breakfast when we had not had breakfast in the hotel. There was no air conditioning. We weren’t told this before we arrived or on arrival late at night. When I raised it I was told it had been broken for a week. The room was stifling and the window had to be unlocked by staff and only opened 2 inches. I had paid extra for late cancellation options, the hotel should have contacted customers to tell them there was no air conditioning. The rooms are tired. There are no plug sockets near the bed for charging devices. Not all the lamps in the room worked. There were just two small cartons of water in the hot room, not in the fridge. Multiple guests were complaining. One had been without hot water for 2 days. Earlier in the week there had been no electricity for several hours.
