Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Muscat

The view was so nice 👍 I loved it 🥰 The food was excellent specially kebab( tastes exactly as it expected ,as an iranian)

Beach, pools and gardens are just fine. Saloons, restaurants and mainly rooms are way below the standards one would expect from a Shangri-La. Actually the luxury is similar to a Novotel. Only the prices match the expectations of a Shangri-La

So I had booked two rooms at the shangrila al bandar in muscle Oman earlier in the year but come the. Time of travel there was a problem which was the hotel was having work done so they called to inform me and I was a bit upset as it had been planned months in advance upon telling the hotel of my disappointment they listened and then shocked me by going out of there way to make our stay a memorable one by pulling out all the stops and what they had promised they fulfilled all the staff from management to the car valet and the staff at the al taboos at breakfast went out of there way and made our stay awesome I would highly recommend this hotel all staff are great always smiling greeting you and giving the personal touch well done and hope to go again soon

We had a full day pass. So we started by the massage then we head to the beach and then the restaurant I was putting on my skirt with the swimsuit showing from the upper part when one of the staff approached me to cover up because this is their policy. In my opinion that was not appropriate to happen in a 5 stars hotel specially that the restaurant is by the beach. My advice is if you don’t know the 5 stars hotel standards don’t assume you are one of them. Finally there was a worm in my salad I reported it to Mr Moataz Ali the manager but no further action was taken.And I left without eating anything else than a starter after paying this amount of money.

We had a family vacation during Eid al-Adha 2025 for three nights. The layout and services throughout the resort were very good, including at the swimming pool, housekeeping, and the front office. The brunch at Al Tanour restaurant on Friday and Saturday was outstanding. Special thanks to the service team, led by Moataz and Anisa. Chef Huda, who specializes in Moroccan cuisine, and Chef Morthy, who specializes in Indian cuisine, served many dishes, each one better than the last! Thank you for memorable vacation. Note: I wish the main swimming pool will stay lit and functional to 9:00 PM. 😇

Firstly, this is my annual trip to Shangri La- Bandar: having visited yearly for the past 6 years. I’ve brought my parents, in laws, son, grandson. 4 generations of our family members have visited Al Bandar and each and every time the staff have been exemplar. Khalid the concierge, chef Sahil, Chef Murti, Chef Vikhas, Cynthia, Jai kris at the front desk, moutaz in Al Tanoor restaurant. And also Jugdesh/Juggy from Penang. Thankyou from our little family. Can’t fault the service they continue to offer. Personalised service. Sincerity. Our every expectation was met with a smile. From brewing my ginger tea how I like it for breakfast to making things not on the menu. We visited with this time with our 19 month grandson and had the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite on the 2nd floor. Room 2231/2233. The suite was perfect was the little one to run around. I’ve never regretting coming here over the years though many newer and modern hotels have opened recently but hospital and warmth of staff can’t be bought and so we will continue to be loyal to Al Bandar and will visit on 2026 again.

Excellent holiday destination, friendly staff, delicious food, clean rooms and very responsive house keeping, the family and loved every minute! Road to the hotel is very scenic but can be tricky, needs alert drivers. Overall highly recommended hotel

A Dream by the Sea .....😍 Spent a February day at Shangri-La Muscat—where golden sands meet the deep blue of the Gulf of Oman. The waves whispered, the cliffs stood proud, and every sip of my cocktail tasted like pure peace. A perfect escape.

We were very pleased overall with our experience at the Shangri-la resort. We’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and this is one of the few where the staff was consistent with their level of service and always polite and helpful. We stayed in the Al Bustan and found our room to be very comfortable, spacious and quiet. Housekeeping staff were always available to provide whatever we asked for. The food at the buffet was always varied and inviting. We had a massage at the Chi spa - glorious place though the massage was somewhat underwhelming especially considering what they charge. The reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because we had chosen this hotel mainly for the ‘babysitting service’ provided as advertised on their website. Travelling with a toddler means you never get a break, so we were looking forward to having a babysitter and enjoying some alone time throughout our stay, unfortunately booking this service turned out to be complicated, by the 3rd day we had spoken to 4 members of staff at the reception but were told they would get back to us. On the 5th day they were able to find a babysitter (who turned out to be a member of staff from another department… her uniform said engineer?) although she was fine with our baby. In our 7 day trip we got a babysitter for 3 hours so that was a bit disappointing for us. Also it would be great if there were a playroom for you g children within the al bustan without having to go all the way over to Al Waha to use their kids club… That said we would definitely recommend this place

Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel truly welcome and well cared for. Our room was spotless and beautifully maintained, thanks to the excellent room service team, who ensured everything was perfect. Waking up to the delicious breakfast was another highlight. The variety, freshness, and quality of the offerings at the restaurant were impressive, with attentive staff making the experience even better. The pools were absolutely stunning—crystal clear, well-maintained, and surrounded by comfortable loungers and shady spots to relax. The resort’s landscaping is equally impressive: lush gardens, colorful flowers, and thoughtful design that create a serene and picturesque atmosphere throughout the property. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better getaway, and it’s the amazing team and facilities that make this resort stand out. Looking forward to our next visit already!
