Driftwood Beach Motel

If you like infestation, this is the place for you!! I arrived with my wife and 8 month old baby. We walked inn, checked the beds and NOPE! We are out of here. Ohh and by the way they will steel your deposit. We have been trying to get it back for a week. Please see the wonderful pictures of what will be crawling in your ears and mouth while you sleep. Yes, that is in both beds that you will be resting your tired body on. Sleep tight.

The place was old and set up like some of the way cheaper places like red roof and eco inn and i didnt have a beach access room like the Pictures showed me. Also the front desk lsdj

Beach front on the dog beach. Smaller quiet resort. Pet friendly. Location close to dining and shopping. Mostly friendly staff.

The Front desk day receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. The room was not clean and smelled like mold. Found mold growth on the wall behind the night stand and in the coffee caddy.

I knew it was an older motel and I know pictures can be deceiving. So I went in with an open mind. However, there is literally no parking. Our room was extremely outdated and smelled like mold. The smell was so bad that I went and got air freshener spray and an air freshener. It was very hard for me to breathe and I don’t even have asthma or anything.The door was very hard to open and close. Front desk was very kind and helpful. The pool and beach access area was nice. However, the steps going into the pool had no railing. We chose to eat dinner outside at the pool area since I couldn’t breathe in the room. It looked like the rooms that face the beach and pool area are updated And probably more enjoyable to stay in. It is safe to stay here, but I would only stay if it was like one night just to get some sleep. It wouldn’t be an ideal vacation motel for an extended stay.

Very limited parking, was told to park across the street in public paid parking. Office staff seemed like they didn’t want to be bothered each visit. Each bed only had 2 very uncomfortable pillows. Building/balconies need deep cleaning. All doors, front and balcony very loud when closing. Overall good stay for price, with better upkeep could be very nice stay. Easy access to beach from hotel but very crowded with beach parking in front of hotel. Additional $28 fee per pet upon check in.

There were people in this hotel that were smoking and making lots of noise while we were trying to sleep.

Upon arrival, I found the accommodations to be unacceptable and unsanitary. The couch was extremely dirty, itooked liked it was pulled out of the dumpster. It was covered with hair, sand, dirt, wrappers, and children’s toys. The microwave was rusted, and the refrigerator contained mold. The light fixture had bugs inside. The faucet was detached from the sink, and the area beneath the sink was filthy. The coffee maker was unusable and in need of replacement. There was also a hole in the wall. I contacted the front desk immediately to request that someone inspect the room. The staff member on duty refused, stating he could not leave the front desk, despite another staff member being present. When I requested a refund, I was told this could not be done directly and that I would need to go through Booking.com. I followed up with Booking.com, and while they informed me they would reach out to the motel regarding my refund, I have yet to receive any resolution or reimbursement. This experience was especially disheartening, as I had previously stayed at this property with my late mother and returned with the intention of honoring her memory. Unfortunately, the condition of the room forced me to leave immediately with my pets, and I was unable to carry out my plans.
