I loved the swimming facilities, hot tub and steam room. The staff are very friendly for the most part.

Some of the bar and waiter staff were quite rude. Waited 45 minutes for one pint of Madri and then over an hour for food as they misplaced the ticket. The staff for the afternoon tea were amazing and the front of house staff were just as amazing.

Gentleman who greeted us at reception was very welcoming and professional, an excellent start. He was very helpful regarding vehicle charging. The lady working on the bar was, similarly, very friendly and helpful.

The bedroom was in a very poor state having apparently suffered from water damage - see photos. There was black mould around bathroom tiles as well as damaged tiles. The handbasin tap was loose and had twisted round. The hall carpet was stained and threadbare where it met the skirting and the plaster above the skirting showed water damage. Security chain on door was broken / missing. The walls of the room were completely bare and a picture or two would have helped. The door from reception to the bar was filthy - see photo. There was a general feel that the place needed a revamp. We had invited guests to supper and ordered wine, and a jug of tap water, when we ordered the food. The water was duly brought but not the wine. I asked again some 15 minutes later. Still nothing. When the food was delivered, almost an hour after ordering, I asked the male server and he produced wine for our guests. When I asked, at the bar, to pay I was given a receipt and told to pay at reception. The following morning I paid but refused to pay the £2.50 for a bottle of water we had neither asked for nor received and, I'm afraid, also deducted the service charge.

Secluded and quiet setting. Pool and spa area were good. Our room was spacious and well equipped.

Bar and restaurant were very cold and not very inviting. Several items were unavailable on the already fairly limited dinner menu. Breakfast items were lukewarm and not always topped up. We had a maintenance issue in our bathroom which we reported straight away and had to follow up some time later as nothing had been done. We were eventually told it could not be resolved, but we were not offered any alternative solution.

Staff were super, pizzas were delicious.

Booked a room with two beds and was given one with one bed and sofa, asked for sofa bed to be made up and was given no pillows, no sheet just a mattress protector. Sofa bed was not fit for purpose. Heating wasn't on, room was freezing. Got to the restaurant to be told the kitchen was closed because of a private event - given the remote location this would have been good to know in advance. Staff were incredibly helpful and managed to negotiate pizzas for us which were really great.

Hotels grounds, swimming pool and spa were lovely.. unfortunately the rest of our stay wasn't that great.!!

Hotel was dirty, the room was nothing like advertised and what I booked!! It smelt damp and wasn't clean. Right outside the bedroom door was a corridor fire door which slammed shut every time someone walked through it up untill 2am. So unfortunately didn't get much sleep. Young staff were poorly trained and breakfast was a disaster! No glasses no tea or coffee had to ask the young lad for everything but he was on his own and looked overwhelmed. Wouldn't stay there again or recommend unfortunately.
