Staff great, lovely sized room

Needs updating, issue with heating and very tired decor.

the room was ok

its not the fault of the staff.the staff was great in the citcumstance.the organisation of the breakfast was poor people was .waiting a round for FOOD.everything was empty.the tray there need more staff to cope.a lot of people walk away without breakfast.its not right when we pay for a service.staff was doing everything in the hotel.the management cut it back so much there can't cope.there no how many people is book for breakfast the night before.so there should how many people.the two mornings was the same

Spa very good facilities. Bed excellent!

Rooms could do with updating. Breakfast needs more options / more staff / extended time. Restaurant needs more staff - wait times quite long/plates and cutlery not being collected after people left.

Reception area small and didnt accommodate all guests waiting. Not enough receptionist ready for check in procedures. Breakfast ran out of food. Whilst many still waiting to eat. At least 10 people.

The spa was lovely but that was about it

To start with we arrived with no channels working on the TV, we asked reception who said they would rectify the problem however we only had one channel after that. Then our pillows were extremely flat and when we asked for some more we were told you didnt have any more as awaiting a delivery so my partner had to put his bag under his pillow to prop his head up resulting in a sore neck this morning. Then we were looking forward to a nice hot fresh breakfast however we were greeted with multiple dirty tables that hadnt been cleared, multiple customers waiting around to be seated as no staff to greet them. No bread or butter and when asked they disappeared for 15mins resulting in cold food, no hot water for cup of tea, tried to find someone in reception but no one there so handed key on reception desk and left swiftly. Very disappointed and wont be returning.

It’s a lovely location and, from the outside, looks beautiful but once you are inside it is clear that it needs a lot of work.

You can tell that this hotel was definitely in its prime probably 20 years ago… and not much work has been done since. The inside is rundown and in desperate need of upgrades. Everything just looks grubby and stained. The food was below average but so overpriced. They automatically add a 12% service charge to the bill that doesn’t even go to the servers (confirmed by waitress)… if the food was somewhat good I wouldn’t mind but just seems cheeky. Definitely won’t stay here again.

Stunning, beautiful, staff were really friendly, room was amazing, loved all the old features and furniture. Grounds were amazing, spa was fantastic and relaxing. Food was really good, had lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast had a good choice. We had a lovely overnight stay for my husbands 60th, couldn’t fault the place.
