"BAD EXPERIENCE IN MOROCCO"

2.0

IT WAS HANDY FOR THE BEACH IS BEST YOU CAN SAY ABOUT IT! rECEPTION STAFF COULD ONLY SPEAK FRENCH EVEN THOUGH MY HUSBAND IS ARAB BORN AND FLUENT ARABIC SPEAKER, THEY DIDNOT HELP WITH ANY PROBLEMS THAT AROSE, THEY HAD NO IDEA OF LOCAL HISTORY OR THINGS TO DO AND COULD NOT OFFER INFORMATION AS TO GET TOURIST INFO OR TRIPS OUT. BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THE SHOWER AS 1 DAY IS SCAULDING NEXT IT IS FREEZING NO CONSISTENCY THE CLEANING STAFF WERE THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT A TIRED OUT OLD HOTEL THAT HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS THERE IS PARKING FOR GENERAL PUBLIC ON PAVEMENT OUTSIDE THE GATE SO YOU CANT WALK ON IT AND IT IS A VERY BUSY ROAD. GO THERE AT YOUR PERIL IT IS AWFULL!!

"Never again"

2.0

After a full 2 hours to check in due to reception staff inefficency, we went to our "room with a view" .... of the street. The curtains were too small for the windows, and had multiple small holes in them. In 34C heat, no air conditioning or fans are provided. There is no noise insulation, and so despite having ear plugs, the noise from the street did not allow sleep. Cleanliness of the tiny bathroom was not up to scratch. TV reception was poor. No parking is provided for guests. Lift lobby had no light at night. Breakfast was poor value for money and one needed to ask unco-operative staff even to provide plates, knives, forks, spoons, etc - things one expects to find automatically provided. Not a place we will be going back to.

"Disappointing"

2.0

I am from El Jadida but living abroad, I booked 7 rooms for my in-laws and friends in El Morabitine for 3 days and it was a total disgrace. Receptionists are indifferent, unfriendly and very rude! Kept my husband and me waiting for over 20 minutes to change a room…no amenities in the rooms(soap, shampoo, tissue paper..) I had to buy everything from the supermarket. Upon check-in, my family found that the towels were worn out and something you wouldn’t even use to dry your feet! Showers did not work properly, when requested nice view they were allocated street view! Breakfast was definitely not worth the price. The whole stay was a nightmare; I DO NOT advise anyone to stay there, you might think it is ok for what you pay but it is not, Ibis is just across the road, for approximately the same price yet newer and cleaner with much more friendly staff

"You get what you pay for!"

6.0

Good and Bad for this hotel, which I stayed in for 2 nights in June 2009: Good: - Free wi-fi internet access in lobby - 1 minute walk to the beach - Pretty nice decor in the lobby and hallways - Price was decent Bad: - Lobby reception people did not speak English very well - Rooms, especially bathrooms, were not very clean, also no shampoo in bathroom - Some issues with the shower head in one of our rooms Overall, this hotel was decent. I would recommend it to others, but with the advice to not expect much!

"Watch for the very misleading website"

4.0

A friend in Marrakech found this hotel website and booked a room for us for 2 nights. Upon our arrival, the rates quoted were wrong. We were placed into a triple room, main bedroom and a smaller room with one single bed in it. None of the furnishings represented what the website had shown the previous night - staff feigned indifference. Our room was early 80's in style, not the modern hip look the website shows. But the room was clean and tidy and the air con worked. The next day, I queried the rates again and found that we had been charged for 2 rooms which is how they calculate a triple so instead of just paying for a room with a rollaway, we could have had 2 rooms. I immediately changed rooms and got them to place a rollaway in the unit and paid a much more reasonable price so be warned about being ripped off here. Also there was a problem with the restaurant price for dinner - I was told the price for a bottle of wine was 120 dirhams so agreed to buy. The bill had the wine for 220 dirhams. When queried, the waiter adjusted this but later that evening, we had a staff member come to our room and beg and plead for the extra $100 dirhams saying oh please but you can afford to pay this. The location of the hotel is very good, the pool was clean. However you might want to try the Ibis if you intend going to El Jadida - that hotel was very busy while EM was not. Always a sign of a well run establishment.

"Clean hotel with friendly staff."

8.0

We have just returned after a four day stay at this very clean and comfortable hotel. The bedroom was spacious with good air conditioning, the water temperature when using the shower was a bit erratic but usable. The pool area was fairly small but quite adequate and even had a full time life guard. The restaurant and bar was very acceptable and the staff were very friendly. Overall it is quite pricey but you could stay at a lot worse hotels.
