Chic Hotel Santorini

Words cannot describe our immense happiness with Chic Hotel Santorini. Fay and Kostas, are just the most fabulous hospitality specialists. They were both so personable and accommodating, assisting us with anything we needed. They were always cheerful and eager to ensure we had the best experience possible. The staff and service were just impeccable, with a delectable breakfast served to our personal outdoor eating area each morning. As for the location of the resort, it is situated at the perfect point in the caldera, at just the right height. There are spellbinding views of the layers and layers of white canvas suites to the left and to the right of the resort as soon as you exit your room. And wait until the evening when the sun goes down and all the lights turn on. You will experience a sense of nirvana. On top of this, the volcano and the island of Thirassia and all the cruise ships are visible to you as soon as you step out of your door. And the sunsets directly opposite the resort were unbelievably stunning and unobstructed. The main walkway outside of the resort has that festive old time charm with remarkable views of the caldera, and best of all, without the hustle and bustle of Fira or Oia. Also along this walkway are fine dining and the most amazing gyro shop in Santorini. Long lines queue every day. In summary, the resort had everything we desired. We cannot imagine a more relaxing place to stay in Santorini than the Chic Hotel Santorini.

The 10 rooms of the Chic Hotel are nestled into the exclusive cliff tops in Firostefani, a short distance walk to the restaurants and bars of the main town Fira and the bus station from which you can travel around the island. The hotel staff are friendly and breakfast tasty. The main issue with our stay was our room... "A Junior Suite with Caldera View and Indoor Whirlpool". Our room (room 9) was not a traditional suite as it was only a bedroom and a bathroom. It had no windows (only a small window in the door which we had to keep covered by the blind in order to have any privacy) and no private outdoor space. The 'caldera view' was only visible from the small shared areas around the hotel. The room was minimally decorated with no wardrobe (only a hanging rail in the bathroom) and one drawer. But the worst thing was the huge open whirlpool which took up half the bathroom (and a quarter of the entire suite space), had no lid, left the whole suite smelling of a health club and was kept hot so left the whole room steamy and humid. The only mirror was in the bathroom so was mostly steamed up. We did not feel that our suite met any of our expectations (for space, basic amenities, luxury feel, privacy or caldera view) and informed the staff soon after arriving. They kept saying how much they wanted to help but were powerless to do anything. In the end we had to have the whirlpool switched off in order to be able to stay in the hotel (which would not refund us so we could move). :(

Absolutely stunning location. Just be aware the area has stairs so need to be comfortable with that. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast bit different but quality of food excellent. Outside pool small and very cold. Like getting into a plunge pool but once in was actually quite nice. There is only one sun lounger next to the pool and 2 chairs. It is not really a laying round the pool holiday. These are caves so don’t expect pristine walls etc. very quirky. But we had an indoor jacuzzi which was nice and meant we had a big room. Not much storage space but we were only there 4 days so didn’t matter to us. I kept mine in the suitcase and other half put his above the bed. The indoor jacuzzi probably caused the do as there was mould in places so you have to keep air con on.

The receptionist Faye was amazing and made our stay great. She went above and beyond to assist. We loved the location and how walkable and accommodating it was. Would definitely recommend.

Great location and friendly staff. However, room was not as clean as we had expected it to be especially for the price we paid. Found a cockroach in my towel, robe was torn and staff did not replace as there were no extra robes according to the front desk staff.

The place is gorgeous, quiet, has a really nice view and it is surrounded by good restaurants. There are only 10 rooms, so the attention and care you receive is very personalized. I am definitely coming back!

Weird rules apply such as deciding on breakfast time and contents upon check-in.

The room was unique and wonderful, staff was extremely friendly and helpful but the views from this hotel makes it all worthwhile, Thank you!
