Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses

Absolutely unforgettable stay from start to finish. The staff were amazing, the grounds are unreal and the pool was divine. What a fantastic place, I wish it was closer to my home so I could come back regularly!

Beautiful property and loved seeing the deer outside our window. The room itself was a 10+. Bed was super comfortable and the shower was wonderful. As excellent as the property was the staff and food were really the standouts. From being greater by the staff at our car when we arrived, arranging for a last minute spa treatment, to arranging a Breakfast box when we left at 4:45am to head off to our Dolphin encounter the staff was amazing. Both the included Breakfast and Dinner were Fabulous! Wish we had time to try lunch as well. Definitely on our list when we visit again and would stay longer.

We had a “wow” moment when we entered our treehouse… complete with two panoramic windows, our room was spacious and extremely well appointed with a superb attention to detail - shower & free standing bath, vast array of additional toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities with freshly baked cookies and a complimentary half bottle of wine (daily room service with fresh towels & top-up of beverages & cookies). We couldn’t quite believe the privileged scenes - the Pacific Ocean on one side, and the mountain range from the other with herds of majestic deer in the foreground. The whole site is well managed, with an olive tree plantation, and a vegetable garden with salads & herbs used in the breakfasts & dinners. There is also a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses is roughly 15 minutes drive from Kaikoura, where there are a few shops, cafes & information centres as well as ‘the Peninsula’ where seals can be found (in season).

We thoroughly enjoyed our luxury treehouse , with wonderful views across the fields where stags with magnificent antlers reside .the food was exceptionally good, as was the attention to detaivis a vis personal comforts and sevice, throughout. We highly recommend Hapuku .

Beautiful facility, great service. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and competent. The treehouses are *gorgeous* -- having a view out both sides, to the ocean and mountains, is stunning. Loved the walk out to the ocean in the morning -- short but lovely.

So many great little touches, for example automatic curtains, comprehensive bidet. Staff make your stay very personable. Well chosen wine pairings and a menu with plenty of local produce

Amazing accommodations with beautiful views, wonderful food and fantastic hospitality! We stayed in two of the treehouses. Not many stairs, but high enough for beautiful views of both the countryside and the ocean. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with great amenities including a cozy seating area with a fireplace. Both breakfast and dinner were included, and were beautifully presented and delicious using so many ingredients from their own farm. Lots of great cocktail options and a nice area to enjoy drinks before dinner. We also enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna. Close enough to Kaikoura to enjoy all the activities there, yet unique and special. One of our favorite stays in NZ!!
