Mercure Ayr Hotel

Stayed there from 5th January to 26th April on a business trip. The hotel itself is in need of a little modernisation especially the bedrooms. The receptionists are helpful, chatty and appear proud to assist you. The under managers are helpful and friendly and are a good team who work well together. The assistant manager needs to polish his customer service skills. Overall my stay at the Mercure was a 4 out of 5. This was my home away from home. The meals are good and the bar is well stocked. The rooms if required can be serviced daily. I opted for once a week. ☆☆☆☆

Hotel was nice but don’t take your car . Even though I paid at reception for parking a month later I got a fine from the parking company. Even though though I had the receipts to show them they still insisted I was in the wrong. I phoned the hotel and they were rude and very unhelpful saying it was nothing to do with the hotel and should contact the parking company. No help whatsoever so I paid for my parking and the fine. It’s a pity your hotel took this option not to help me because the hotel was nice and it is your loss because I was looking out the area and hotels for years to come to bring big parties for conferences but I’ll be looking elsewhere.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, nothing was any trouble for them. They were able to swop my room as having trouble with my knees and use a stick, I could not get into a bath to use the shower. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bar was well stocked with plenty of beer brands and spirits. Ideally situated was the beach and sea a 10minute walk away. Shops a short walk away as well.

The bedrooms and bathrooms needed to be refurbished, they were looking well worn.
