"Zentropia Spa was the best!"

10.0

A great stay at grand palladium, the spa was especially amazing. If you are able to sneak away and spend the day at the spa, I highly recommend booking a massage with Rosel, and keeping extra time to use the spa facilities.

"Good resort overall."

10.0

My wife and I went for a week over the christmas break with our son and his family of 4. We stayed on the edge of the White Sands Resort closest to the Colonial resort (buildings 57 and 58 are good choices).. For us, this was the ideal location as you can use the restaurants and facilities in both resorts, and the kids pool and slides, as well as the theatre, are in the Colonial resort. And despite what some might say, the walk to either resort, or the beach, is not far. I don't think I ever walked over 5 minutes anywhere, usually less. The resort itself is a long way from the cancun airport, so we booked a private van through Canada Transfers rather than make the kids sit through stop after stop.. About $230 return. I hate having to get up early to get towels on chairs. The pools at Whitesands and Colonial are MASSIVE (especially whitesands), with a ton of lounge chairs. We could wander out to the pool after breakfast and easily get five or six chairs together, pool front. YOu could get chairs any time of day. Wonderful. The beach was a little more crowded, but still able to get seating. A note about the beach. About half if it is rocky and unswimable. But if you go down the beach towards the family resort it's nice and sandy. With sandtoys around for the kids. Recreationally there is a ton to do. Pickleball courts, tennis courts, really nice 18 hole minigolf course, pool and pingpong tables, and more. I'd say evening shows are not as well don-up as at some other resorts, but there is lots going on at night, more at the colonial than the white sands. We appreciated that we never heard the 2 a.m. screaming drunks you hear in some other resorts. It was quiet after 11. I've seen comments about the lack of english spoken by staff. We found communicating with front desk staff, waiters, bartenders, concierge staff to all be fine. You can't expect every chambermaid and groundskeeper to be fluent in English. Booking special restaurants invlolved long lines and most choices already gone. Book early. All the buffets are good for breakfast or lunch. For dinner the Buffet in the Colonial (the hacienda) is MUCH better than the buffet in the wihite sands. Way more choices. Even the front desk stafff admith the Colonial's is better. But the White sands is quieter if you want that. Bottom line, would we come back? Sure. NOt my favourite resort, but I had a great time with no major headaches or complaint

"First Time and Last - Not a 5 Star - 3 Star at most"

2.0

Avoid this resort at all costs if you expect anything close to a true 5-star experience. They advertise luxury, but what you actually get is a subpar, frustrating stay that feels more like a 3-star property—yet you’ll still pay premium prices. The name “White Sands” is a complete marketing gimmick. It suggests a stunning, pristine beach, but the reality is shocking: the beach is filthy, full of rocks, and absolutely not what you’d expect. There’s only a tiny stretch of decent sand—maybe 50 meters—and it’s not even on this resort. It’s on Kantenah, which requires a 25-minute walk. For a resort claiming to be high-end, this is unacceptable and misleading. Housekeeping was a disaster. On multiple occasions, our room was either not cleaned at all or cleaned so poorly that we had to call the concierge every single time just to get towels for four people. This became a daily headache and is completely unacceptable for a property charging 5-star rates. The most insulting part? Staff repeatedly told us that if we were PTC members, we would receive better service and be treated nicer. Let that sink in: you pay for a 5-star resort, and then you’re told you need to join a membership program to actually get the service you were promised. That is outrageous and feels like a scam. Every guest should be treated with the same level of care and respect—period. We decided to humor the resort and sit through what they call a “PTC presentation,” which is nothing more than a high-pressure timeshare scam. What an absolute joke. They lure you in saying it’ll take an hour, but it turned into a grueling 3.5-hour ordeal. I told our salesperson, Oscar—who was at least polite—that I just wanted the price upfront so we didn’t waste each other’s time. Of course, that’s impossible because their entire strategy is to trap you and wear you down. The real highlight was meeting the so-called manager, Joey. This guy strutted in dressed like a wannabe Mafia boss and immediately started throwing out insults the moment you say “no.” His attitude was disgusting—arrogant, greasy, and manipulative to the core. Joey is the textbook definition of a sleazy salesman who thinks intimidation and humiliation will make people cave. It was honestly one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had at a resort. If you value your vacation time and sanity, avoid this scam completely. It’s predatory, disrespectful, and leaves a terrible taste in your mouth. Shame on this resort for allowing such shady

"Mexico 2025"

10.0

We stayed here for 2 weeks in October and loved it. Yes maintenance and some building work was going on but we didn't hear it or it didn't disturb our holiday. Loved the white sands pool area was the quieter one . Staff very friendly and our concierge man was so helpful. We loved also seeing the wildlife . Only downfall was the beach. But the pool was so nice it didn't matter . Ala carte restaurants were good the best was the steak and Brazilian. Didn't like the Italian very much. Rooms were lovely we had a junior suite with whirlpool bath near the beach . And mini bar refilled every day with soft drinks . Would definitely recommend

"Amazing Venue for our Wedding!"

10.0

We traveled with 27 members of our Family and close friends to White Sands and were married under the Gazebo on W.S. It was the best vacation/wedding that anyone could have imagined. There were some minor communication issues however the staff at the facility are Pros and it all went off without any problems, I highly recommend this facility to anyone thinking about a beach wedding in Mexico, the grounds were absolutely gorgeous.

We had a wonderful Christmas week at GP White Sands. So many restaurants to choose from!! The food, entertainment, bars, pools and people were amazing! Shout out to Chef Ines at Colonial Buffet and all Food service employees for accommodating our nut allergies with specially made deserts, specialty coffees etc and Antonio the bartender at Colonial for making the best drinks all week !! We stayed at White Sands and enjoyed all 3 resorts and the spa along with activities like mini putt, shooting range and tennis. Fabulous!

"best vacation ever!"

10.0

My family of 8 and I travelled to the Grand Palladium White Sands December 25, 2025-January 1, 2026. Upon arrival, the front desk provided amazing service. We came to the resort for a family vacation and also, my fiancé and I were having our wedding ceremony on December 30th. The front desk upgraded all 8 of us to a TRS villa and offered my fiancé and I a corner suite. We stayed in TRS Villa 60 for the week. The staff there was incredible. The housekeeping and supervisor staff - Efrain, Noemi and Jasmin - ensured that all 8 of us were well taken care of, the cleanliness of the rooms and the entire villa were impeccable. Our butlers - Maggie and Eleonora - I truly cannot say enough of the extraordinary service and attentiveness from both of them. These two wonderful ladies made the difference of just an average vacation and turned it into a DREAM VACATION! Each member of the family felt the warmth and caring Maggie and Eleonora provided. They redefine what customer service should be. I have travelled to Mexico and other places in the Caribbean dozens of times, and I can honestly say that this was the best vacation, best hotel, and best service (Maggie and Eleonora) that I have ever encountered. We highly recommend this hotel. We arrived back home and are all still smiling from this vacation. We will definitely be going back there. I would also like to thank Aurora from the Grand Palladium Wedding group for making our special day perfect. The attention to detail, making sure we had everything we needed, and literally providing us with a zero stress experience allowed us to have an exquisite wedding. Thank you again for everything, Maggie and Eleonora; we will be back.

"Only thing worse than the food was the service"

4.0

Speciality restaurant reservations were impossible to get even though they sat half empty looking. We were able to get a dinner reservation at a speciality restaurant one day out of the five we stayed. And, the food was such poor quality we left early and opted to purchase ice cream at the hotel gift shop. The buffet was the only other option which was repetitive and also poor quality. One member of our party ordered a fish sandwich (they are pescatarian) only to discover it contained half a fried fish patty and also a chicken tender…under one bun! Service was nonexistent and the staff was generally not helpful. For example, no help with luggage, reluctant bar service, no service around the pool, a struggle for coffee refills in the morning with breakfast, and no one answering the phone for room service or when you try to reach the front desk. We stayed for five nights and pool towels were only available one day out of the five when we went to the pool. They had no towels four days out of five! The only people getting towels were those that arrived to the pool first thing in the morning. The water and soda machine at the pool bar was also frequently broken leaving guests without an option for water around the pool. The rooms were humid. If you’re expecting a budget hotel, this would be on par. If you are expecting to get what you paid for and experience a mid level to luxury vacation, i’d avoid this place!
