EconoLodge Downtown Toronto

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times...it's clean and comfortable and a good location for us..we had a problem that our room was not made up after the first night. We left around 11am and we took the DO NOT SIGN OFF THE DOOR..and left we came back around 3pm..the room was not made up..we phoned the front desk and asked why..they sent up the housekeeper ..she said the sign was on the door..we said it was NOT..mistakes happen.. no big deal for us..but she lied to her boss..The door tag was still on the sideboard as well as a tip.The 2 of us.. against her answer made us angry and left a bad taste for us..other than that it was comfortable.

Hotel is in a great location, walk able to the downtown centre and theatres. It is an older hotel and quite tired. The room was utilitarian but functional. Had a working frig, which was handy. The bed was very comfy. I recommend asking for a third floor room; the floors are not carpeted and you can hear every sound over head. The staff were all wonderful,friendly and helpful. Warning; no parking close by and no elevator.

Pleasant stay

Econo Lodge provided an affordable and comfortable stay. However, there were some very loud guests late at night during both nights, which was not dealt with by management.

Service was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. However, Wifi performance was disappointing. The wifi connection was slow, and unreliable. I was not able to get a consistent connection with my mobile phone, and laptop connection was better, but still slow.

It’s a good hotel, check in before 4pm if you do not prepay if not they will give away your room. It happened to a group ahead of me in line. The tv only had one channel but I didn’t make a service request, too much work while on vacation. Room was clean & the location was good; parked in a lot across the street only costs $30 for two days overnight. There are quite a few homeless shelters within the vicinity however, the homeless people there were not as aggressive as in the states and I never felt threatened at any given point during my entire stay. I loved it there.

It was hard to find parking.had to haul my luggage up the steps.no elevator.
