"Amazing location, would stay again!"

great location right on the mountain. our room had a balcony with a view of the mountain. Room size was nice with a kitchen.

it was difficult for a non Italian speaking person to communicate with the staff at the restaurant which is also where you check in / out. luckily I was with an Italian to help translate

"If you don’t want sleep for a week, come. "

Sitting here in bed at 1am writing this review on my last night of holiday as yet again I can’t sleep because of the constant noise/rave/fireworks that seems to go on every night and the constant noisy passers-by. The rooms have NO sound-proofing and other guests have no respect for other guests staying here. Stayed here seven and eight years ago and was brilliant but it’s now much like a club 18-25 with no room for anything much else, certainly not families. On arrival two rooms for myself and a family member weren’t even ready at 12 midday. All the woman at reception said was “we’ve had 100 new guests today” as the poor excuse. She asked for my mobile number so she could ring when they were ready but said they “might” be ready at 4pm. No phone call at all, so at 4pm we try again and luckily they were ready. Appalling service.

"Functional but uncomfortable"

Great location next to the nursery slope and Smith 4 chairlift. Spacious rooms (VERY) warm and plenty of hot water. Kitchen area a bit hit-and-miss with regard to matching sizes/sets but enough pans and plates to make basic meals. No toaster, but a hob-top kettle provided. LOTS of storage space, so we didn’t need to use the heated boot room. No balcony, but we were on the first floor. Hairdryer in the bathroom, and TV with about 15 channels, one (CNN) in English. Apartment didn’t have proper beds, only a sofa bed and pullout chair-bed. The former was incredibly uncomfortable, so much so that I hurt my back on the first night and had to move to the chair-bed leaving the double for my partner. The beds (coupled with the noise) were so uncomfortable that I barely slept the first three nights, despite being exhausted from travelling and trying to learn to ski. The double quilt/throw was also dirty on arrival with various people’s long hair. Rooms and windows lack soundproofing, meaning were were often kept awake by neighbours’ TVs/shouting/laughing/singing/etc until past midnight and then woken at 7am as people woke and got booted up for the slopes. It was exhausting. Room wasn’t ready on arrival; got the keys around 4pm so be prepared to get skis etc early or sit in a bar and drink. To sum up: functional and in a good location, with lots of hot water, but not a comfortable stay. Would not return.

"Not a good experience."

A very run down apartment in much need of updating. It was spacious enough but cupboards and crockery were broken and it wasn't even clean. The room was ready on arrival which was a pleasant surprise but be prepared for very basic living and cooking facilities. The beds were very uncomfortable - much like sleeping on concrete and the childrens room had a very unstable bunk bed with no guard so instead of taking the risk one could fall onto the concrete floor we ended up having one child in with us. Following some reviews before I travelled I had to request the basics ie: a kettle before I travelled but to be fair, the communication direct from the resort was good and a kettle was insitu when we arrived. The Wifi worked only in the kitchen and the TV was broken throughout the whole stay. Security I also felt was very lapse with a hook and eye latch on the inside of the door to the balcony meaning if anyone wanted to get into our apartment, it was pretty much an open invitation. As for the family friendly location, yes well it might be but they have very little regard for small people and getting to the first slope every morning rather resembled hearding cattle with little or no regard for children at all. Overall the skiing & Views were fantastic but the accomodation and organisation was very poor. And if you think being part of Campo Smith means you could use the sister hotel facilities, well think again - it does not.

"Worn down, basic clean apartments with nice balcony."

We stayed at Residence Campo Smith over New Year and first week of January. This was a bad idea here as it’s the nearest ski resort to Torino so attracts all Italians. The resort was full. Room - The rooms were ok those with balcony’s were a lot more spacious that those without. Beds were often fold out beds so not the most comfortable to sleep in. The bathroom and shower was fine. Get a first floor balcony and ensure your room isn’t in sight of Haralds the apres ski bar other wise you will here loud music late in the night. Surrounding area. This has a couple of bars and restaurants. The best without doubt is Mezzaluna for value and quality.

"Worn down "

A worn down gigantic resort surrounded by beautiful mountains for skiing and hiking. My room had a terrible fold out bed and a shower that was broken . no one seems to care about the quality of the rooms and believes this is acceptable.

"Such a fantastic location - pity."

The location is absolutely brilliant. However, the apartments leave much to be desired. They are basic at best. Having said that I can handle basic if its clean and well-kept. In the apartment we were in, there were dustbunnies in all the corners. The sink was broken, the shower handle was broken, the mattress was worn out, the pillows were flat, one of the switches was filled with foil and the list goes on. It is a real pity that these apartments are not kept clean and maintained. I would love to go again but I wish I could be assured of a warmer welcome.

"Dog Poo everywhere!"

exert from my complaint letter as my first review was not allowed due to a rude word! Outgoing Flight was good, not much direction given to where the coaches were however having travelled here before so it was not an issue. We had to wait for a Birmingham flight to land that was delayed acceptable and unfortunate. A rep who was new to the resort was taking the bus over to Bardonecchia what information he didn’t know he found out and was helpful. We were dropped a considerable distance with our suitcases from the apartments – having visited the hotel attached prior we were dropped at the door. A rough gesture in the direction to go and off we struggled with 2 children and 4 suitcases. We went to the reception of the hotel (although we were booked into the Apartments) the reason for this was the picture on your web site is the hotel reception! Oh no we were wrong apartment reception is round the corner off we go again! Our room 7414 won’t be ready till 5pm as its not been cleaned! In the mean time we have to go and get boots and skis at the times arranged by Crystal – so after agreement we get the keys for a dirty room where we can place our suitcases and open them to get ski socks etc out. The room well it was disgusting I have photos – and yes we knew it hadn’t been cleaned – but it was much more than just not clean - it wasn’t even what we had booked on 8th December 2016 more than 14 months in advance. Type E apartment sleeps 2-6 Double bedroom, Twin bedroom when booked for three or four people and living room with extra double sofa bed when booked for 5 or 6 people. Some apartments are split level. When visited the hotel previously we viewed the apartments so had a very clear idea what we expected! After a very stressful time/conversation with the crystal rep and the apartment staff even considering a flight home - we were eventually moved to a more suitable apartment 8405. This however had bunk beds not twin beds so was still not what we paid for. Although this had been cleaned, I will use the term cleaned very loosely! It was still disgusting the floor was swimming with water – the sofa bed was down with a loose sheet over it no sofa cover – when we put it back to a sofa it revealed a picnic of crumbs and bits of food. The beds were unmade which we had to do. This is a self-catering apartment now I don’t expect all mod cons just the basics - however no toaster and no kettle! A large notice kitchen must be left clean and if not a 50 euro charge will be levied! We move on you advertise satellite TV -oh yes but not with one English channel and believe me as a non-skier I had the time to sit and go through the lot! Free Wifi – absolutely useless at any time of the day! Ski shop well that was a nightmare – all crammed into a shop at the time stipulated by Crystal 1.5 hours later sweaty and fed up before we left! I do remember it from our last visit however the memories probably faded over time of how bad it was – they were brought right back to the fore! The whole of the complex was covered in dog poo and was just unclean in the stairwells and landings. The wood on the outside of the building on our balcony was dropping off. The paving slabs and stones on the buildings was broken and wonky. The windows in the corridors and in the bedrooms opened fully no safety catches at all. Very noisy in the nights time with parties. Whole place was worn and dirty including the dining table and cupboards After everything else ski school and skiing went okay we survived on takeaways, food from the supermarket and cups of coffee heated in the microwave! On to departure! No hot water for showers in the am when we were leaving! Lucky we had washed the dishes so god help them if they dare try to charge 50 euros! A delay in flight on return acceptable due to the weather conditions.

"Excellent"

A lovely hotel with a lovely spa and lovely staff in an excellent position (ski door-door) with food to die for and we had great skiing weather. I must mention Elton at reception for quickly sorting out a room problem and the restaurant staff Michele, Elvis and Anca who were fantastic. It also had a free safe good bar prices and delicious free snacks around 5 o'clock in the evening. If there is a niggle its the WiFI which is intermittent. I mentioned this at reception and it's not the hotel's fault. Anyway the Mobile network was OK and is now free to use for us Brits. A great holiday. We will be back. THANK YOU.
