Hyatt Regency Kyoto

L'hôtel est un peu excentré mais dans un quartier très calme et agréable, juste à côté du temple Sanjusangen-Do qui, au passage, vaut la peine d'une visite. Un service de navette de l'hôtel serait apprécié car les bus à Kyoto, même sans bagages encombrants, sont bondés (le métro est symbolique), et l'hôtel est quand même à 20-30 minutes à pieds de la gare de Kyoto. Soyez courageux et entraînés s'il fait chaud en mai, comme cela était le cas cette année. Chambres propres et calmes, mais petites par rapport à la majesté de l'entrée de l'hôtel. La salle de bain n'est pas spacieuse. Les massages sont excellents. Très bon restaurant italien, pour changer à l'occasion de la cuisine japonaise.

The hotel has a great location for the main tourist sites. Staff was fine. Breakfast was good. Price was relatively reasonable compared to other international hotels in the same vicinity. But the rooms are terrible and in poor condition. Ours smelled very badly of mold. One bad mold smell in the main room, and a different smell in the toilet room and shower. The wallpaper was peeling. And the rooms are generally small and shabby, as compared to every other hotel I have stayed in in Japan (which generally have a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail) . Would not stay there again unless they did a major renovation.

The place is wonderful, and the rooms are exceptional and so convenient. Service was very helpful from reception to departure. Rooms are very convenient, beds and the toilet and bathroom are very exceptional

Exceptional hotel. The rooms were spacious and well equipped with what you need. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They have set a new bar for hotel service for me. The location is a bit outside of the main city but only a 12 minute walk.

Hôtel très bien situé avec personnel à l’écoute des moindres demandes. Petit-déjeuner copieux et varié aussi bien continental que japonais. Grande chambre spacieuse et agréable. Grande salle de gym agréable pour un entraînement

Un seul bémol, notre chambre était proche de la réception et donnait sur le jardin zen visible depuis le petit déjeuner donc nous avons du laisser les volets fermés quand nous étions dans la chambre pour plus d’intimité…

Nice, quiet location but that means not too close to things. However, several amazing temples and shrines very close, and bus stops are close, as well. Room was nice, overlooking zen garden. Service was VERY nice, especially Leo, who had great information. Concierge service was also very good. Lovely "maiko" performance several days a week around dinner hour. One low point was the Trattoria Sette (their Italian restaurant). Very bland food and spotty service. Probably should have had the pizza. Bar was very appealing and friendly.
