I wasn’t happy with the resort at all and my stay just kept getting worse.
Some staff spoken excellent English, but many in the restaurants and bars spoke very little which was hard work, but it is what it is.
Buffer food terrible, you will struggle with children unless they’ll eat anything and you will struggle if you’ve any special dietary requirements. À la Carte all need to be pre booked early, or forget it.
Don’t be surprised if you end up laying around the pool on the grass or concrete as they need to double the amount of sun Ed’s to have anywhere near enough. People are getting up at 5am to put their stuff on one, by 6am you’ve no chance of even getting a concrete subbed in the pool. Take your own beach towel and they want $30 if you lose yours and they are frequently getting stolen. Don’t leave anything valuable as it will be stolen. Don’t even leave trainers by your subbed as the chances of them still being there after you swim is low.
Rooms are adequate, but worn, nothing special, think old Travelodge that’s in need of a refurb in England. Be careful as we learnt the hard way - patio doors are not secure.
We were robbed as our patio doors were forced. It happened after I’d packed to go home so I’d emptied the safe of my watch, jewellery, sunglasses and other expensive items to put them in my case. I went to the lobby and my husband popped out for ten minutes to get drinks, he’d wanted the charger so when I got back to an open case and a few things on the bed i thought he’d been in there and simply thought to myself he should have been more careful. The bell boy was there to take with transport so I quickly tossed the odd bits in the top not wanting to keep him waiting and left. On our return home I went in my hand luggage bag to get a bottle of perfume I’d brought for a friend YSL for over £100 and it was gone, I was very upset as she’d helped me so much with my children and pets whilst I was away so I wanted to say thanks. Then I noticed a zip was open on a small purse, I then found my other little clip purse I’d had 150 dollars in, gone. It was only then the penny really dropped, we’d had our room stolen from. As I started to go through it I got more and more upset as I realised how much was missing, the most had been taken from my cabling bag as most of my valuables were there as that was staying with me. My Chanel watch, a Chanel box with multiple pairs of designer earrings including serval Chanel pairs , two Dior, Gucci, Vera Wang, diamond studs, diamond nose stud, other nose studs, my favourite Chanel pearl sunglasses, Ralph Lauren Sunglasses, Rebook trainers and I think it was a women or at least one was as two pricey mascaras, new Olay face cream, Body Shop hand cream and a few other cosmetics were gone. A man wouldn’t have been as likely to spot the pricier bits like this to collect. My husband then looked to find his brand new trainers, never worn were gone, 2 designer shirts, Dior Savage aftershave a recent gift gone and lastly him Ray Bans. Oh plus my ruck sack he had used for the holiday, something to carry the spoils away! Gutted. In highlight I shouldn’t have taken half of it, but I don’t have cheap costume jewellery etc and why shouldn’t I wear nice things if I want to. My husband and I have worked hard for our thing so why shouldn’t we enjoy them on our holiday.
Since this I’ve looked and there are multiple reviews online saying the same thing, there are many rooms that have been targeted, even stuff like passports from the room safes are being stolen so the theory seems to be it’s likely to be staff, possibly security. Thinking back our patio doors were open, i thought my husband had opened them but he’d only just returned himself.
I’ve emailed the hotel and they’ve not even bothered to respond, maybe they are just used to it! Not like we can pop back and complain.
The holiday itself was poor, but this has upset me greatly. I treasure my things, many gifts, very disappointed.
