Hotel Amazonas

Very clean and friendly staff. Pool is very clean and well maintained, very friendly and helpful life guard. Bar pool is very good. Breakfast is well worth money, lots of choices. Room are great and got very good air conditioner. Location of hotel is very good as well, close to shops and beach.

Although very few groups occupied this hotel, the hotel services were absolutely 100% (primarily food, pool, billiard etc. Clean public spaces, very modernly equipped. Big advantage was the 24h reception for late night check-in. The only negative I found was the room. I mean very poorly soundproofed windows and walls between the rooms and the street (we had room in 1st floor) and absence of blankets. Only thing similar to blankets was a dirty duvet in the closet. I know that for better room you have to pay. It’s same as for TV, Wi-Fi and AC there but that isn’t important - where is it different? In conclusion, I must appreciate the hotel staff, who were always available and willing.

Don't believe some of the horror stories that some other reviewers have put on. Having a read through prior to going made me a bit anxious about what the hotel is like. And to be honest, it ain't that bad especially for the money. The hotel location is really good. Its at the east of the resort but plenty of bars/restaurants and activities to do all around. Its only a 10 minute walk to Aqualand and no more than 5 minute walk to the beach. As its quite close to bars and being a mainly young German resort, it is quite noisy on a night and there's very little soundproofing but its not that loud and my room was on the main road but its mainly only very early in morning, however the hotel has no control over noise from outside. There is bus stops for 23 which stops about 100m up the road which takes you to Palma, other areas of Arenal and Aqualand (if you choose not to walk) and is flat fared at €2. The A2 also runs to the airport from about 6am til about 11pm and is only €5 per way. For the room, I had booked a Single room which is just a single bed (not a double bed) with a small balcony big enough for 1-2 people and a fair sized bathroom with walk in shower. There's a wardrobe with a safe inside but you had to rent it from reception. However, the plugs were no where near the bed which makes it a bit awkward to charge your phone. The room was clean and it was briefly cleaned by cleaners everyday. Only thing is that they never seemed to replace the towels after they took them so after 2 days, I was left with no towels but that was my last day anyways. There is no amenities in the room, with no kettle, tea/coffee facilities, no cups for drinks or mouthwash and no fridge. Its a very basic room, so if you're bringing drinks, remember to buy cups. The biggest problem for me in the room was the aircon, which was non-existent, which ain't great when its 35C outside and 30C on a night during my stay. That's why I rate it 3. If it had working aircon, it would be a 4. The bedding was clean and it was made everyday by the cleaners. There was no damage at all. It was all good structurally. The other guests on both sides were not noisy, however, I probably was, because I was getting up to stuff that most young people do (if you get what I mean). However, as a gay young male, I felt very safe being in the hotel and in that resort. The hotel is suitable for all types of people including families, but just remember that it is a very lively German dominated resort! If that's not what you are wanting, then you need to look at the different resort area completely.

Everything about this place was great and I didn't even get to check out the pool. Always so much other stuff to do.. Couldn't get much more central and couldn't fault the hotel at all. In fact, the only reason I didn't give it TOP marks was through no fault of its own, vis-a-vis, the street outside could get noisy late at night and into the early hours of the morning as revellers made their way back from the beachside bars. It wasn't enough to keep me awake for long but it was there. Might be a problem for some lighter sleepers.

Great stay, but could have done with a mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold

They don't clean the room every day. Lady from reception with a bad attitude. Breakfast is cheap with awfull coffee. We payd for a proper coffee every day. Single elevator is crowdy for the whole hotel. And so on... The beauty of the island, the sea, beach compensates all of those. We love Mallorca

Room ok., very dated but to sleep in and shower, it does the job. The beds are extremely hard and the pillows are not much better. Very powerful shower. Clean towels daily. Hotel is clean and nicely decorated. However what let's this place down is the food. Shockingly terrible. Not replenished for people that choose to come after 8pm, even thought the restaurant is open until 9.30pm. Came in one evening to find around 10 flies in the salad carrots. We sat down and my friend went to get some water from the juice machine and was shouted at and told no. They are only for breakfast and if we want a drink we must pay.!!!!! FOR WATER???? I have never heard anything so ridiculous. The coffee and juice machines should be available during both breakfast and dinner. But the hotel is only interested in making money by selling drinks at dinner time and so therefore it's forbidden to have some water or a coffee with your meal. The staff were rude and blatantly told us that we couldn't have water because they won't make money. The hotel is in a good location. This is my 2nd time staying here. Having previously stayed when it was an all inclusive hotel. I will not return as no human should be denied water that is essentially free. We paid to stay here, we didn't not just walk in off the street, so to be denied water is a joke. We were not asking for wine, coke, etc. WATER!!!!

We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 1 night. Hotel is very noisy, rooms in need of major update, floor was not clean, beds uncomfortable. Just a very unpleasant experience.

Booked three nights stayed one. We booked room only, check in was incredibly slow. Once in the room, my heart sank, dated, tatty looking, very basic, floor tiles chipped in several places, sand, grit underfoot. Tv on the wall was tiny, no remote control. We went out for dinner and came back for some sleep. That wasn’t possible, it’s a very busy road and soundproofing is none existent. Didn’t get a wink of sleep. Bed not comfy. So we found another hotel, packed and checked out. Considering check out time is 11am and we checked out around 2pm, the receptionist just said “You’re checking out? Ok perfect” I said yes, we don’t like the hotel. She just smiled…..
