Mercure Queenstown Resort

Could have provided an extra bed- we being 2 adults and a 11 year old child

Firstly I booked for 2 rooms and only 1 room was given and was charged $758 (cost of 2 rooms). Then I wanted to extend they said they only had garden view room which was only $219. But charged $379. Crazy man..

I didn't like anything. These guys were the worst. Never booking again with this hotel and also booking.com.

The cheap cocktails, comfy bed, sauna and pool.

Would love to see the outside deck done up a little. Parking availability within the complex, there were so many parking spaces available but you had to pay $15.

Beds were very comfortable and location was beautiful aswell.

The views are gorgeous. We wished our rooms were higher up and not looking at the shed and area below the hotel but the view is beautiful

The hotel contacted me a couple of days before my arrival to tell me they were charging me $130 extra per night plus additional breakfast charges. I booked in March for a December stay and messaged with the resort at that time confirming we were traveling as a family, requested two queen beds in adjoining rooms. To then receive an email on December 21 that I would be charged an additional $130 per day plus more for breakfast felt very shady. I was told by the front desk that it was New Zealand custom, yet we stayed at four other hotels during our stay and not one tacked on more money for a third person except the mercure. Breakfast was not good, very scarce offerings, we dined elsewhere the second day. The smell in the elevator is quite terrible (when with other guests we all said the same) and the front lobby air freshener quite overpowering. One of our room doors didn’t close and needed repeated attention. I emailed in advance with the property to about box lunches for Milford sound, F&B never got back to me even though I asked twice at the desk and also emailed in advance.
