"A very disappointing stay, made worse by poor communication"

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, since it was Park Inn, and I used to enjoy its location and convenience.

Unfortunately, my recent stay was very disappointing. My room was not cleaned, and basic items such as towels, tea, coffee, milk, and clean cups were not replaced. I reported this to reception at around 1:15 pm and was assured it would be handled, but when I returned at 5:30 pm, nothing had been done. Even more disappointing was the lack of proper follow-up afterwards. A member of the hotel team promised to speak with me the next day about my complaint, but this never happened, although I saw him several times at reception. I felt ignored rather than listened to. For a hotel under the Accor/Mercure brand, this was far below the standard I expected. Update after the hotel’s response: I am very disappointed by the hotel’s reply. The response says that my room was serviced daily and that I only requested additional service later in the afternoon. I strongly dispute this, as it does not reflect what happened. My room was not cleaned that day, and basic items were not replaced. This is exactly why I went to reception at around 1:15 pm to ask for the room to be cleaned and for towels, tea, coffee, milk, and clean cups. When I returned at around 5:30 pm, the room was still untouched. This was not an “additional service” request. It was a request for the normal cleaning service that had not been done. I find it very disappointing that the hotel chose to present the situation in this way rather than properly acknowledging the issue. "Room far too small and grossly over priced. Will not return."

Room was the smallest I have had in years. From the bottom of the bed to dressing table was about 25cm. We had to move the chair and keep it in front on the door if not you could not get passed to get to the loo. A/c worked well but was stuck on 19c so too cold. Bathroom was also to small.

Sorry I see I have filled in the wrong section. As for likes nothing really in the room. Did not eat in so no comment.

The location

The bulb in the bathroom was flickering and chair in the room had a large stain whether it was blood or whatever I dont know. I couldn't sit on it or even to put my things on it.

The restaurant with views over the river was good.

Entering the hotel from the car park is not an attractive option (quite off putting). I've stayed at hotels all over the country for 20 years and this entrance is the scruffiest I have encountered. Obviously majority of your customers will enter from this car park. Overall look of hotel is not good. Looks like a batch of run down flats.
