Zalagh Parc Palace could possibly be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. No way is it a 5*. It was clean but very, very basic accommodation. Half the facilities advertised are closed – Gym, Irish Bar, Bowling etc. Food in restaurant - not much variety and only lukewarm. Same bread, salad and fruits for breakfast and dinner. Dinner had one hot meat (not necessarily hot) with a few offerings of veg which was tasteless and un appetising. The rooms again were clean but overall standard was really bad. Separate toilet door meant you had to squeeze in (and I’m small). Broken everything and plugs not fitted properly. Bath filled up when showering. There were also regular power cuts. Staff didn’t even look up to speak and would walk off and attend to someone else mid-sentence. Quite rude, especially at Reception where first impressions are made. Restaurant manager was shouting at his staff in front of everyone. And the egg chef would refuse to make an omelette while she used her phone!!! Desserts were pink custard or cake! Sorely disappointed in this hotel ‘Palace’ no way and 5* never??

Zalagh Kasbah in Marrakesh was advertised as 4*. On arrival, reception is grand and gives you that hopeful feeling that the hotel will be a good one Unfortunately, not!! Rooms were clean but no bottle of water or tea and coffee making facilities in room. Overall description – tatty and in need of a top to toe makeover. Stained cushions, broken tiles and doors. Base of bath when showering is actually bouncy – leakage, gapping, deterioration ? I don’t know but needs sorting. Toilet keeps running after flushing and doesn’t fill up until you give flush a few presses. Towels are thin and not all light bulbs worked ….list is endless. Food – bad!! Same bread, salad and fruits for breakfast and dinner. Dinner had one hot meat (not necessarily hot, usually lukewarm) with a few offerings of veg which was tasteless and un appetising. Thank goodness for the bread to make a cold meat sandwich since that was the best on offer!! No labels to say what the food is, don’t know how people with intolerances/allergies manage. Dinner was really bad, breakfast a little better as you can get fresh omelettes and pancakes cooked to order. Other than that, bad, bad, bad. Crockery and cutlery were often dirty and crockery chipped. Dessert is 2 small cake choices and yogurt. Staff were inefficient and made no effort to interact, even on arrival. There are signs everywhere – especially the pool telling you what not to do. You are also not allowed to purchase drinks/food from outside and bring into hotel. If doorman see’s it,.you will be stopped and asked to store it in baggage room until departure. Shocking considering they don’t provide even a bottle of water and the food is so bad you may want to buy from elsewhere. Gym doesn’t open till 10:00 which is no good if you are on a 08:00 trip departure The plus was the large pool and sufficient sun loungers and seats for everyone. This is the one and only positive from me! Booked as part of tour so no option of where to stay, but I would never book this hotel.

This is supposedly rated as a 4 star hotel not sure where this rating came from The entrance is grand and offers much, that is where it ends The room I stayed in was less than satisfactory, the aircon blows hot air despite set on 10 degrees, needed to open the window to cool the room down, the shower curtain rail fell down on having a shower and the bath is slippery -beware The restuarent has great salads and that’s it, breakfast again great salads and that’s it I tried to have a cup of hot tea with milk and got hot milk no water with tea and got charged 60 dirams The one saving grace of the hotel is the massage By the way forget the internet, tethered it to your phone it will only work that way Value avoid at all costs
