Mac Puerto Marina Benalmadena

We have stayed here previously and we're so happy we booked to return. However as per the previous reviewer we found the 30 minute rule re sunbeds was far too short. When we had a meal at the poolside bar we returned to find our towels had been removed and someone else was occupying the beds. What made this worse was firstly, we were not advised of the rule at any time during check-in or on the paperwork and secondly the poolside bar took 20 mins to deliver the food. As for the comments from the hotel re busy periods I saw the lifeguard remove towels at a time when there were 17 unused beds. One other problem we found was that in our opinion the meat offered at dinner time was of a lesser standard than previously. One night, of the 2 meat offerings was a very sloppy beefburger and another time it was sausage. Re the entertainment, some was first class but the nights when it was a single artist I am afraid that they were like a mediocre karaoke Sorry but the hotel seems intent on losing custom with its 30 min pool rule and somewhat disappointing dinner offering. We shall not return

My first opinion of any hotel is, what are the staff like. The MAC Puerto Marino is blessed with staff, exceptional, friendly, professional and always ready to help, including the room cleaning ladies, always a lovely greeting in the morning. Food is, as always, top class and always a great selection in the three years we have been returning to this hotel. We have three to four holidays a year and the MAC Puerto Marino is always on the top of our list of our favourite hotels, just like coming home!

Lovely hotel, Perfect location. Clean. Breakfast lovely. However ...... The hotel has decided to bring in policy that if you leave your sun lounger for longer than 30 mins the lifeguard will remove your towels. Whilst I agree with them being removed when people just reserve and go out for the day , it is ridiculous for them to be removed when you go to the Hotel Pool Bar to have lunch. The service takes longer than 30 mins so you loose your bed. 30 mins is ridiculous amount of time, you are meant to be relaxing on holiday not having to rush your lunch to make sure you still have your bed. If you are having lunch at the pool bar you should be given a ticket that you can put on your bed to show you are still on site having your lunch. Surely the hotel want you to stay and use their facilities but if you know you are going to loose your bed because takes longer than 30 mins you might as well leave the hotel and go somewhere else for lunch

The hotel was fabulous, just next to the marina giving easy access to the many shops and restaurants, with a beach just across the road. The whole experience from booking with Tui untill we came home was amazing. The hotel staff without exception were all very polite efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned daily and the towels were replaced. The restaurant provided an enormous array of food both for breakfast and dinner, all well cooked and displayed with a label informing you of what each item was. There was also a whole range of salad selections and deserts. The bar was spacious and comfortable and provided nightly entertainment. This provided an easy distraction whilst enjoying a pre or after dinner drink. The pool bar was fantastic with Andy and the waiting staff providing a relaxed and happy atmosphere to enjoy a drink and or a delicious light snack. There were plenty of sun loungers and also a hotel regulation about not being able to reserve them, which was nice. My wife and I cannot thank everybody enough for providing us with a lovely relaxing holiday. We would definitely like go return to the hotel and would recommend it. Well done to Tui and a special thanyou to all at the Mac Puerto Marina Hotel in Benalmadena. Hope to see you again soon.
