AQUA Hotel Aquamarina & Spa

The hotel is updated. The rooms are modern, very clean and ample space especially for a hotel in Europe. The opportunity to have a choice of pillows is lovely and the amenities in the Lumiere suite we appreciated. The receptionist/agent that checked me in was extremely friendly and the chamber made who cleaned the rooms were courteous and polite. Other than that I can say it was added out the worst service experience I’ve ever had. We are used to paying for and expecting to get a certain level of service when we are traveling in the United States And even abroad. I have never experienced service industry staff who were so dedicated to ignoring me avoiding eye contact with me, simply, pretending that I did not exist to the point where there were meals that I tried to order in the bar and the restaurant and could not get service because I simply could not get anyone to do me the courtesy of giving me eye contact. And being that it is obvious that during my time here I have seen out of hundreds if not at least 1000 guests less than 20 of them are black, and that Spain is the country that created the African slave trade, I am assuming that it is the legacy of racism that makes it OK for people making fairly low wages while expected to perform and provide services to hotel gas feel comfortable One as I’ve been treated during my stay. What I can say is that if you are looking for a hotel with a beautiful view close to a beach, not on a beach, but close to a beach that you can walk to with activities for both family children, and for adults only you won’t be disappointed if you’re coming expecting great service perhaps this isn’t the place for you, especially if you are not a white presenting European

We really liked the hotel. The ratio of the price and quality is pretty good. Our flight has been cancelled because of the strike of french workers so we came to the hotel two days later than it was planned. But it wasn`t a problem. Staff at the reception fixed it immediately. Greetings and many thanks for Laura. The restaurant and food was perfect. A great variety of meals, seafood, home vine, drinks. Excellent. We would like to thank Miguel. He is the soul of the restaurant and do a huge work every day. Everything in the restaurant works perfect. We have been to the hotel three times and will definitely come back. Many thanks to all the team!

Really clean and beautiful. The breakfast and dinner was delicious with a big variety. The staff was really helpful.

I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations. The location of the hotel is perfect – close to everything yet peaceful and quiet for a good night’s sleep. The room was spotless, spacious and always cleaned. The breakfast buffet and dinner were another highlights – delicious, fresh, and with a wide variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices. Staff was always friendly, professional, and happy to help with any questions or requests. The hotel facilities were top-notch as well – from the relaxing spa to the rooftop terrace and amazing pool! Perfect for young people, couples, families, seniors, and even guests with special needs – everyone will feel welcome here. Highly recommended! I would definitely come back!

My friend and I have stayed in the hotel for 9 days, and this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The service was really nice, the reception staff was very approaching and helpful. The hotel was safe and the cleaning service was very meticulous in their work. A special thanks goes to Miguel, the restaurant manager who not only made sure that we have our dinner (though we were late) but also offered us a cold breakfast ticket before our departure to the airport.

I stayed at the sister hotel Aqua Hotel Onabrava but visited Aquamarina for a spa treatment which was excellent. The Therapist Raquel provided the best Mediterranean treatment, scrub, body wrap and massage worth every penny 😊

We stayed at this 4-star hotel through a Sunweb holiday. The food was good, and the hospitality/bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. In that sense, the hotel had potential and offered some comfort. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by serious service issues at the front desk. My mother’s suitcase was missing due to an address error in the booking system. For five full days, we asked for help – but the reception staff kept brushing us off and showed little willingness to assist or empathize. Only on day five did one staff member finally take us seriously, involved the manager, and helped us track down the suitcase. By then, five days of stress and inconvenience had already passed.Het

Very nice well run and plenty

A great Hotel, great location on the main drag, short walk to the beach. We had a 2 bedroom/family room on 1st floor. Not overly impressed with the balcony & view. The balcony was dirty with mud/dirt running down the walls from the overgrown foliage that was blocking the view. Beds are quite hard with blankets on. Extra pillows and towel were requested and delivered quickly. We could only find 1 English channel on tv (bbc news). Room has a small fridge in it but no other refreshments ( tea/coffee etc). Maid service daily. Lots of wardrobe space. Hotel in general is great, however sunbeds are very very close together making movement on & off difficult. The pool is quite small for the size of the hotel, I envisage it getting very overcrowded during peak times. There are fixed umbrellas that again can make it difficult if you need shade as it moves with the sun. Waiter service around the pool (but there is a supermarket near by) The AC is a bit hit and miss and the walls are quite thin (if anyone is a light sleeper). The food was great, no complaints from anyone. there was always a minimum of 2 fish dishes and 2 alternative meat dishes, plus pasta, pizza, salad, vegetables, breads, rice, chips, soup. Deserts were typical of a hotel buffet ( small cakes, ice-cream cheese, fruit) There is no AI option at the hotel, drinks are ordered when you are seated and paid for when leaving. We never watched the evening entertainment so cannot comment, general day activities for adults & kids. The gym is small and basic but can fulfil a basic exercise programme. Never used the SPA. Main complaint was the lack on information provided at check-in. All we received was a card with restaurant times on. No info on hotel layout, activity timetable, use of safe, dinner arrangements or dress code. It was only from personal investigation we found the jacuzzi, cafe bar (that was shut) how to pay for drinks at dinner, availability to hire pool towels and pizza restaurant. Also, hotel is not flexible with check out times.

TLDR: Stay away if good food is important for your vaccation! Where to begin... The only good things were: The lobby, bar and pool area are nice. Thats about it. Maybe 5 min walk from the beach which is also fine. The food: Breakfast was above average. So that is something. The lunch and dinner were terrible. Don't know how to describe how bad it is but I feel sorry for all the people writing reviews saying the food is fantastic. They must not have had anything other than poor quality frozen microwave food. The hotel doesn't season anything and there are almost no sauces. They had one sauce that was pretty nice and it worked with beef, pork and chicken. But not every day. At least half of the dinners/lunches they had this grainy wierd sauce that tasted wierd due to texture. None of the meat was seasoned properly and they use cheap cuts. This does not have to be a problem but they cook them wrong and cut them in the wrong way making it even chewier. The desserts were also below average. Maybe we could find one good dessert per day. For every meal they had a selection of melons and they were mostly good. No complaints. The apples in the fruit baskest were good all week, kiwis on 2/7 days. The rest of the fruit was not ripe. I don't know if this is because we are not Spanish, but some of the serving staff were borderline rude and we didn't get to order anything to drink untill halfway into our meal. And sometimes it took them a very long time to get us our order. This were just from a couple. Not all though. The room: We had a standard double room and the layout is horrible. It's a open concept shower and toilet area separating the bedrom with a partial wall. You can close the door to the WC but probably due to the size and layout and with the inadequate AC it gets very hot. The bathroom sink is out in the open facing the door on the partial wall. Maybe not a big problem for a couple but if traveling with a friend or parent this would be far from ideal. Also the shower area was very dirty with hair and other black goo I didn't want to look at too closely, where the floor meets the tile. The beds were nice and (very) firm but strange bedspread with a coarse blanket over a thin bedsheet and it's one piece and they were not able to provide separate bedspreads. AC was very noice and not very good at keeping a constant pleasant temperature in the room. Only one outlet in the bedroom area and one by the sink. Strange not to have them by both night stands.
