Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort

This is an overpriced motel with no staff at the front desk regularly and never late at night. The hotel text messages and doesn’t clean rooms without trying to chase down the hard to find lazy front desk people. The room itself was average although it had a kitchen area which made the room larger which was a plus. There is a part lake view part parking lot view from the room. They also placed an unauthorized resort charge on my card despite reservation prepaid.

Front desk and housekeeping were very friendly and attentive. They were able to promptly answer any and all questions we've had about the property. In addition the views of Lake Tahoe were breathtaking and it brings so much comfort being able to hear the gentle waves from your room.

The room was a little bit old - most notably the bathroom. The major pain point that differentiated the accommodation from a good vs. great accommodation is that they really should advise all guests to bring an eye mask or provide guests with complimentary eye masks - especially those who are light sensitive. Not all windows have blinds on them and both my partner and I ended up waking up shortly after sunrise given the lack of blinds on some of the windows. If you're a morning person - more power to you and no need to worry about this. But if you're someone who's looking for a more lazy vacation, definitely bring your own eye mask.

It was my first time in lake Tahoe. Staying in this hotel resort made our stay even more adventurous. Everything is near by. I liked how we had a view right next to the lake. I slept like a baby in their comfy bed after a day full of activities. Went during March and it was very peaceful weather was not that cold but average. There was every amenity included although I forgot to check if laundromat was available. Our stay there was very enjoyable. Would recommend if staying up north or if you going South too.

I reserved 2 rooms with “views / fireplaces” They were the exact same price. One room had a great view and fireplace. One room had a view across the parking lot of lake with no fireplace. When I asked why the rooms were different I was told “last min cancellation” so I’m still unsure why they were different . The kitchen was awesome The bed was not comfy at all. Overall I think we would book again but i would be double checking the rooms booked.
