Red Wolf Lodge at Olympic Valley

Beautiful little room that was so cozy and the hot tub was right outside our room!!

We loved the Red Wolf Lodge. Great location in the Village and next to Red Dog lift. The hotel was very comfortable and had great amenities. The staff was also super friendly and helpful.

Great property!

Our group enjoyed our time at Red Wolf. The studio room was spacious, the clubhouse was relaxing after a long day, and the location couldn’t have been better. However, BEWARE- the hotel’s reservation system is operated by a general customer service line with limited willingness to work with individuals. Both this general line and the hotel itself are rigid in their policies. I made the unfortunate error of booking a reservation 1 day too early (completely my fault). Just hours past the 7 day cancellation window, I immediately contacted the hotel if they could modify it as they had many rooms available. They refused to do anything and seemed unsympathetic to the situation. I asked to then extend the reservation by a night to accommodate our actual stay but was refused as this would require a new reservation and weekends have a 2 night minimum. What?? After multiple calls between customer service and the front desk, I was ultimately able to add a night with the front desk. However, this entire ordeal has left me incredibly stressed and out of pocket for an empty room that likely could have been rented to someone else. I understand the need for hotel policies, but have never faced such blatant “tough luck” mentality for something that could have been an easy fix.

Hotel would not permit us to cancel or reschedule (which we offered to do immediately as we recognized the situation was hard on hotels as well as guests ) despite a blizzard and a no travel advisory for the mountain pass we would have needed to traverse. Their policy was essentially endanger yourselves or lose your money. We had a longer stay scheduled for subsequent nights at a different venue. That property understood the danger inherent in traveling during the blizzard and permitted us to reschedule for one week later, which we did. I recommend any prospective traveler stay at this hotel as there are plenty of options where hotel management will make exceptions to policies in cases of unforeseen events such as this blizzard.

Excellent location for a ski-in ski-out stay at Palisades. At heart of the village and easy parking. Nice room with kitchen and access to laundry and club house. Would come back again for sure.
