Excellent stay and Beyond

The check-in desk for hotel guests was not clearly marked. We specifically reserved room 1 in Heritage House, a larger room with jetted tub, and paid the rate for that room. However, we were placed in a very small room, #4, which fit a saggy double bed and not much else. When we asked about being moved to the room we had reserved (which was the reason we chose to stay at this property), and showed the reception clerk our reservation that specifically showed we had reserved the larger room, we were told it was unavailable and that “sometimes all the reservation details don’t go through on our end”, which is hard to believe considering how each room number has individual rates and pictures on the website, and that was it. No real apology or anything done to improve our stay despite the downgrade. The room was at least clean and had good water pressure in the shower, but we were very happy to check out the next morning after a poor night of sleep in the very small, old bed, and chose a different property when we came back through Victoria a few days later.

Love love love these rooms and all the antique furniture. Each room is different and unique. Large rooms with large bathrooms. Nice amenities. Would stay here again hands down!

Good location with lots of seaside walking trails. The property is for sale so no improvements being done. The room was stuffy and hot. We could have used some AC

Fantastic renovation of a Victorian house. Decor is in keeping with the period and gives a fabulous feel. The restaurant gags a great menu and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I would recommend it and stay again.

We couldn’t find the place. The street was confusing and we couldn’t see the sign from the street. I had to get out of the car and asked some walkers. We were disappointed with the windows. No screens and the window in the bedroom wouldn’t open. We were also disappointed that we had no view of the bay.

Lovely location near the ocean walk and protected bike routes. Good breakfast. Pretty garden. Helpful staff.
