No elevator

Good location. Great terrace and view from there

It is impossible to sleep there. You can hear absolutely everything from outside, which is a lot, as people not staying at the hotel are drinking and chatting in hotel bar/terrace past 2 am almost every day. They all have to walk past the rooms. Beyond that, the rooms are not soundproofed, and you can hear everything, from glasses and cutlery to conversations, at all times.

Good location

Air conditioning did not work as it should. Apparentlly this is a known issue. The acoustic isolation was terrible.

The Grey hotel is located in the Waterkant area. It’s like a little village inside the city and very safe. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area with security guards so it’s safe to walk around in this neighborhood. The hotel itself is a very nice boutique hotel. I had room 3 which has a nice terrace with a beautiful view of Table mountain. The room is spacious enough, nicely decorated and comes with airco and a little fridge. If you want to have a coffee/tea maker in the room you have to pay for it. The only thing they need to change is the artwork on the wall. The room is right below the rooftop terrace which is open until 10pm. Until that time it can be very noisy, it didn’t bother me though. The staff is wonderful. Especially Lungi, Marieke and the lady that serves breakfast (I don’t know her name) are great. Lungi and Marieke went out of their way to help me book tours, recommend restaurants etc. Breakfast was good. The lady that serves breakfast always remembered my coffee order so my espresso was already in the making before I sat down. 😊 All in all, this is a wonderful hotel with the best staff. I would come back here any time and definitely recommend it.
