The Grey Hotel

I arrived at the hotel to find that the date was erroneously booked for December and not October - so i had little option but to book and pay for a new booking for the night on the understanding that i would changed the erroneous booking for the following Thursday (i stay in Cape Town every Thursday) Whilst booking.con allowed me to change the booking to the following week. The hotel refused to confirm the change, so i arrived at the hotel again… and had to make a fresh booking.. To find out by the rude receptionist that the hotel couldn’t, wouldn’t whatever change or refund the erroneous booking made for 2 months in the future.

Stayed here one night having stayed elsewhere in Cape Town earlier in the holiday and regretted not booking for longer here instead. Great location within easy walking distance of V&A Waterfront. Lovely, quirkily decorated spotlessly clean rooms and a great roof top pool and bar area. Breakfast was lovely as well - would highly recommend

The room was very small but a unique hotel experience which we enjoyed.

There wasn't space for us to store our suite cases in the room.

Staff is amazing. Location as well. Amenities. View from rooftop bar is awesome. My 3rd year running coming here, the folks recognize and I am for sure not going to change!

Room 10 has a nice slender design sink to fit the size of the bathroom, but it isn't very functional. And when switching on shower, it first smells a bit of sewage
