The Grey Hotel

My Hotel Room was comfortable, neat, clean and adequate for my one night stay there. I loved the little balcony. The Hotel was undergoing renovations and nowhere did they indicate that when I made the booking. There was no meals served and no drinks bar available (only the bar fridge in my room - Room4). I booked a hotel room and not a self-catering facility and expected to be able to have a meal there, not to have to search hfor a good restaurant. I do believe the renevations were highly due, but they should indicate this on their booking portals.

Very slow service from kitchen

100% rebooking this fabulous hotel when I’m back!! The staff so welcoming and friendly with such useful local knowledge there was not one wasted day. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet and picturesque area of the city, yet a stone’s throw from shops and amenities. A 10 minute walk away from the beautiful Waterfront and a roof top bar with the majestic Table mountain as the backdrop. A family run business, with the charming owner, Lisa Calligaro, on site and faultless staff my experience was more than a ‘home from home’ stay. And with overall operations managed by the wonderful Marietjie, otherwise known as ‘M’ The Grey Hotel would undoubtedly be the the first choice for 007..🥇

Well, I don’t know what to say, I normally stay at the president hotel in Cape Town, it’s a five star I stay there every time, for 25 years I’ve arrived at this hotel, the grey hotel, my first thoughts were a very welcoming small hotel, I’m used to a bigger hotel well to cut a very long story short I working music and I send a lot of DJs to South Africa to the president hotel, I will not be sending them they are any longer I will be sending all my staff to the grey hotel, reason why, sorry reasons why lovely hotel, fence very comfortable, location absolutely brilliant, and now we go to the staff, I know South Africans are very friendly towards us tourists, but I promise you the staff in this hotel are absolutely amazing, from the cleaners to the last off are very good for management well they can’t do enough for you. I had no issues whatsoever apart from I forgot my phone charger on the way now and they could not do enough to make sure my phone is charged. I recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone going to Cape Town, I have just booked it again for my next visit to Cape Town, I get this hotel 10 out of 10 without shadow of doubt.

Staff at the Grey are just amazing. My second time there and I will definitely go back.

The Grey and its staff were great: incredibly helpful and so nice. When/if we go back to Cape Town, we will stay there again, and will also recommend to all our friends.

Did not have breakfast. Location of the hotel was good.

Bathroom door was difficult to open and close. Had to pull or push hard.
