Nice historical hotel right in the heart of the Plaza. I didn't realize that parking was extra and fairly expensive but that is probably because parking is limited in Plaza area. However it changed the affordability of the room. The room itself and the floor and lobby were very clean and in great condition for an historic hotel. You could walk easily to the Plaza in 5 minutes.
We love staying at this hotel. We stay about twice a year and every time we stay we are reminded why we choose it. Even the valets are incredible!! Great location and the rooms are big and can fit our family of 4 nicely.
Did not like all the stairs. Didn’t feel that I was greeted warmly. I felt second class
Wanted to stay in KC downtown but there was an event and prices were outrageous so I found this little gem. Great area to walk to restaurants, shopping in a safe, fun environment. Parking was $20, not bad and the hotel itself is 100 years old and very charming. Room was very clean, beds felt great and it was quiet, what else could you ask for.
It bothers me that neither Marriott or Expedia informed me before I booked that I’d have to pay for parking at the hotel I was staying at! Both Marriott and Expedia should notify travelers of this as part of the reservation process. Failure to do that means that both are trying to hide this from their customers and THAT’S NOT RIGHT!!’
My daughter went to Kansas Cutynwith a friend to celebrate her 15th birthday. We reserved a suite with the understanding it had two separate rooms, so the two teenage girls could have privacy. My wife even called to confirm and was told by the oerson at the front desk this was this case. When they got there this wasn't the case. When my wife told me about this I called the front desk immediately with the hope my Silver Elite status would at least hold some clout to rectify the situation. I was told by the front desk there was nothing that could be done. Disappointing!
The valet was great, explained where the parking was located. A check in male was very rude when I asked where I could get ice, as the machine on my floor was broken. Other staff were great! The motel was very clean and neat, comforable quarters, bed and furnishings.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Right on the Plaza and close drive to Westport, City Market and so much more. I didnt see the price of parking when I booked the hotel so I was surprised to pay $21 a day for an unsecured lot. Rooms don't have USB ports to charge phones. I would stay here again, but some updates to the property would be nice.
A favorite place to stay. Warm atmosphere and on edge of Plaza. Very loud refrigerator in our room this time however.
Check in and check out was very easy. We stayed only Friday night and departed at 7:30 am Saturday morning. Very disappointed that there was no restaurant available on Saturday morning although it was advertised to open at 6:30 am. The room was comfortable and clean but the fan ran constantly and couldn’t be turned off. Also, the bathroom toilet “cycled” almost constantly(room 609). The price was decent compared to other hotels in the area.
